You can never go home—

You can never go home because you made your choice and were shattered into pieces. You looked upon your family—your sister, mother, and father—and chose to leave behind that which you intimately knew.

You can never go home because someone then took you and changed you against your will, and although your home remained the same the person who belonged there is dead. You were no longer that toddling boy, that strapping young man, that your mother and father looked upon with love and care.

(Was it that, your mind whispered all those years later as blood stains hid away on the darkness of your skin.)

You can never go home because you committed a crime that not even a mother and father could forgive their firstborn for—they would look upon you and your parents would see nothing but her in your eyes. Her, your sister, who had given you nothing but acceptance and love.

You can never go home because you fell asleep for a thousand years and when you woke up and returned there, your society had changed, your house had fallen, and all that you had known was dead.
