Profile
Lightpaw
After loosing her sister to the cruel judgment Starclan enforced on Oakclan code breakers and then experiencing the horrors for herself, Lightpaw switches her path from a warrior apprentice to a herbalist.
Her motives are twofold however as she only hopes to earn a spot on the Council and somehow, someway, end the tradition once and for all. She'll need the clan's favour and with her new mentor being so resistent to training her... it's a long path infront of her.

Lightkit was born to Barkflower, a single mother, alongside Violetkit. The nursery was bustling with 3 other litters from the time she opened her eyes but Lightkit always prefered Violetkit best out of them all, although she did open her mind up to the nervous but insightful Glowkit. The restrictions were harsh, limitations and fears imposed on them from the start and by the time she could first taste prey she had learned every step of the code inside and out. Despite how quickly she and her denmates learned to fall in line, Barkflower's eyes always crinkled like she was trying not to smile when Lightkit told her about the mischief she'd come up with. The warm feeling drove Lightkit and her sister to become as clever as they could to get away with more and more. By time she was apprenticed, she'd learned camp and the immediate area outside like the back of her paw.
Before
Lightpaw was apprenticed to Skippertail while her sister chose the herbalist's path. Her mentor always encouraged her to be more openly playful, indulging her whims while pushing her to face every one of her fears until they melted away. The routine of training fell easy to her and she participated with fervor all while enjoying sundown with her sister, sharing prey and stories alike. Concern began to grow after the death of one of the herbalists and the interest Violetpaw seemed to show in it. Eventually, her sister's curiosity outdid her stealth and she was caught acting outside the code. Lightpaw's clanmates would speak of dark influences, pulling her sister towards temptation and eventually her death when she failed Starclan's judgement.
After
In her grief she withdrew from the clan and spiraled into isolation. Her mother was also succumbed in her own grief, unable to offer Lightpaw the support she needed because the apprentice couldn't bear to ask her for it. She couldn't ask anyone for it, even when they all tried to offer it. She lashed out at her denmates, ignored her mentor, and talked back to the older warriors. Oakclan's deputy tried to step in to right her behavior but Lightpaw was insistent on the freefall. Eventually like a self fufilling prophecy, her clanmates were convinced she too had succumbed to the dark forest's influence. The judgment was nothing she expected, an all too real dream where she had to fight to wake up again. Another warrior in the same situation as her gave their life for Lightpaw. Sandpetal was the only reason she lived to dusk. Lightpaw vowed to make it right for Sandpetal and Violetpaw. Not only would she live, one day she would stop the sun setting on another judgement.
Continuing
Her clanmates hesitated to accept her back despite returning with Starclan's blessing. Lightpaw had done a lot of damage in her grief. She wouldn't let it deter her, not when she now had all of their fates in her paw. It wasn't long before an idea formed. She began watching the healer's den and observing Sugarshake's methods. She began planting the seeds of her sudden new skill. She finished her plan by planting a false omen in the healers den. Despite Sugarshake's attempt to refuse, Lightpaw had convinced Oakclan's leader and was appointed the new herbalist apprentice.
- Lightpaw was originally albino but that was given to her mentor instead.
- Lightpaw's full name has been decided from the start but that's my little secret.
Lightpaw misses her mother in a different way, but she doesn't have time to try and help her right now.
Lightpaw knows Sugarshake doesn't want to mentor her and she's sorry for lying, but she needs to do this.
