History

NEEDS TIDYING UP

he was raised in extremely abusive conditions. he was kept in a completely dark, cold, uncomfortable holding pen and was only taken out to be trained to fight - this was the only time he ever saw other pokemon. and at first it was only against pokemon far far far stronger than himself so he was basically beaten up to the point of near death, treated, then thrown back into his pen, with the intent of making him fearful of other pokemon and developing a "pokemon will attack and hurt me" attitude. when he was finally put against an opponent weaker than himself, his initial reaction was to try to hide, but when the other pokemon tried to play with him (since it was a random stray pokemon and not one of their trained pokemon) he thought they were going to attack and so began to viciously attack and eventually killed the other pokemon. after successfully doing so he was rewarded with a large meal, treated, then put back in a different slightly more comfortable pen. over time he began to learn that being beaten resulted in hunger, darkness, and pain, while killing other pokemon resulted in good food, more exposure to the world outside his pen, and a lack of pain due to being less wounded.

he also found that after a while he began to link causing pain with positive feelings, such that he would get a genuine rush of pleasure whenever he hurt anything, including himself, while not hurting anything led to him growing increasingly anxious and fearful that he would be cast aside himself. when he wasnt taken out to fight for a while, he would begin attacking the walls of his pen in an effort to escape and find something to hurt before finally turning his tail on himself. this led his owners to contain him more thoroughly, chaining his tail and head so as to avoid him causing damage to himself, but they also took him from his pen more frequently to fight in an effort to prevent his urges becoming too strong. he quickly became their most feared, and most aggressive, and most unstable pokemon. when he is in a frenzy he cannot be around anyone or anything without attacking them and, most likely, killing them - outside of these times he is perfectly safe around humans as long as they do not attempt to touch him, but will viciously target any pokemon that so much as glances at him, the only exception being the other pokemon owned by his masters as these are the pokemon that were used to "train" him when he was younger and he still carries that fear with him after all these years.

by pure dumb luck he becomes lost due to his pokeball being dropped or stolen while theyre being transported, and not only does this set off a massive anxiety response (unfamiliar situations, hundreds of unfamiliar pokemon) but in order to deal with these negative sensations his only instinct is to cause harm and bring death. when the ragtag band of pokemon that have their own little "community" find him, he nearly kills them, but after being overwhelmed by sheer numbers plus his tail being trapped under a large boulder the pain sobers him up somewhat and hes able to talk to them, after which they accept him (somewhat begrudgingly) into their community and he becomes one of their guards / protectors, though he still suffers badly with his need to cause pain and so often harms himself or sneaks off to the town and kills stray or feral pokemon without the community's knowledge. if they knew they'd kick him out in an instant
