Born in an artisan family, Quayle is an alchemist renowned for the greek fires and acid flasks he sells in his litte shop in the Free Cities.
But mundane alchemicals are not what he thrives for : he seeks an other kind of knowledge, the very power over life and death, flesh and blood. A power wich ultimately will give him dominance over all the known world.
His first success in his research was bringing life to Bob, a misshapen heap of cancerous flesh,. Bob acts as Quayle's assistant, and is himself quite competent in alchemy (despite a devious mind).
