Absalom

Absalom is a priest with a very interesting secret...he's not human at all, nor is he 'holy' by any means. Rather, he's an eldritch being with a fascination and fondness of humanity, and he masquerades as a small time religious leader in an effort to...well...get people to not be assholes. In the past, he was worshiped as a god himself, but long left that behind in favor of not driving most people who saw his true form mad. Notably, though, people with very traumatic pasts seem to suffer little more than minor headaches and vertigo when in the presence of his true form, otherwise maintaining their sanity.

In order to be more approachable, he tried to create a non-threatening vessel for himself...thus, he ended up traipsing about as a 4'11" man with a thin frame and almost doll-like features. He's a close semblance to a human, but close inspection reveals that it's not a perfect disguise. His eyes do not have pupils in human form, his hair is silken smooth...but feels like literal silk, rather than actual hair, and while his skin is approximately right...he's not warm like most humans...he's cool to the touch, with shadowy tendrils like moving tattoos along his back just beneath the skin. This leads to him being a little...uncanny...at times. His soft-spoken nature and patient approach to things helps to keep him approachable, though.

He eventually takes in Sacha when the young catboy is left abandoned for unknown reasons, he doesn't have the heart to turn Sacha over to the system and adopts him himself. He's a very loving and supportive guardian, and has a tendency to take people in at least long enough to give them a boost in the right direction. This sometimes means calling in favors with gods he was on good terms with at the height of his former glory.

Art notes: No pupils for his human form UNLESS he's about to ruin someone's day and is letting a bit of his true form out, in which case refer to the eyes in his shadows.
