Den

• Basic Information •

Born from an incubation chamber like every other irken, Den is a free-spirited and adventrous young alien that explores the known universe. He is much taller than someone like Zim, and even beats Tak in height. His increased height is adored, and it helps him get away with a few too many things. He has a SIR unit named Veero, and is acquainted with quite a few of the current invaders, including Zee, Yuli, Tenn, Larb, and Skoodge. Den is almost constantly eating, and spends more money on food than he'd care to admit. It's fortunate he gets discounts at Shloogorgh's.

• Backstory •

Since birth, Den was expected to work for the irken military, much like every other individual of his species. He enrolled into military training when he was of age (barely pass his smeet stage) in order to become an elite soldier and then, eventually, an invader (once the concept of Opertaion Impending Doom had arised). However, due to his then stunted growth, as well as falling victim to a commander who didn't take too kindly to his independent, calculating ways, he failed his training and left the academy. This influenced him to find a different career, and ended up working for Sizz-Lorr at Shloogorgh's Flavour Monster. 

Still, Den had a little grudge against the military, and wasn't too fond of the Tallest, who at the time was Miyuki. Because of this, Den regularly stole from the irken military, but always got away with it. Once he had started working for Sizz-Lorr, his height increased exponentially, and he started to be shown respect. It is theorized that Miyuki knew of Den's thieving ways, but she let it slide because his height was "impressive."

Den worked at Shloogorgh's for a long time. He even worked during Zim's first exile to it, meaning that he lived longer than Miyuki, then Tallest Spork.  He is roughly the same age as the Tallest Red and Purple, and by extension, Zim.

One day, Den had decided to steal an irken ship, specifically a spittle ship. He had hacked into the ship so he'd go undetected. He ended up taking it for a cruise, and fell in love with the journey. He had always looked up to the stars in wonder, and while he had traveled to a few isolated planets that belongs to the irkens, he had never really explored space on his own free will. Since then, he had wanted to explore the universe. During this revelation, he had decided to build his own custom SIR unit. His robot, Veero, was constructed out of loose junkyard scraps and other assorted items. 

Den also has been able to hack into his own PAK, eventually making him undetected by the control brains, since they, unlike the Tallest, actually have a problem with Den's criminal behaviour.  His boss, Sizz-Lorr, knows all of this, but decides to keep Den's secrets because he is a good worker. To add, they've known each other since before Den's kleptomaniac behaviour, and even the Frylord can sympathize with irkens that aren't on the same page as the irken empire.

• Ongoing story •

Den spends most of his time working at Shloogorgh's to save money up for space traveling. He usually leaves just before the Foodening, since he practically lives at work all day every day between each one. Those 20 years (well, 20 Foodcourtia years) are spent traveling in his ship, with Veero. Den loves to document his exploration, and keeps a journal by his side. He illustrates notable creatures or landmarks on planets, and, essentially, researches the places he lands on. This thick, worn journal provides a lot of knowledge and nostalgia to Den, and he usually reads back on his findings between visiting planets. If not, he is munching on doughnuts or star gazing.

• Physical Appearance •

Den is a little bit taller than Tak, equalling about 3 feet and 9 inches in height. He is quite thin, but a bit chubbier than Zim's build.

His skin is a darker green to Zim, and his eyes are a dull purple. He almost always wears the goggles he has to wear at work because "they look cool."

His head is longer than Zim's, as are his eyes.

His antenna rest most downwards than other's, and he has two kinks in them. While they resemble the more "masculine" antenna, he does have an extra kink/swirl that goes up towards the back of his head.

In terms of clothes, Den wears the standard irken clothing, which is a pink-red striped uniform that ends just below the crotch, a black pair of tights, boots and gloves. However, he also wears a dark brown-red jacket over his uniform, as well as a grey-red scarf around his neck. His boots are rounder/bulkier than the irken boots, and he has two white stripes along the top of them. 

His PAK is the same colour as most other irkens'.

Den has light freckles all over his body, but are most visible on his cheeks, shoulders, top of back, hips, and forearms. He also has two scares on the left side of his forehead, which resemble two scratches. He got this while fighting a creature on a planet he once visited.

• Personality •

 Den is considered quite intelligent, and takes an interest in engineering and hacking. He accelerates in the areas he is interested in, and these activities help keep him grounded. He also loves to write and draw, which is both good for his journal, and his attention. His hobbies help prevent dissociative episodes, but he finds it extremely difficult to focus on topics that don't pique his interest. This is another reason why academy training was quite hard, and why he has no problem in teaching himself how to build and invent things. These symptoms aren't as prevalent while working, as he can find genuine enjoyment out of working, but he has had moments of dissociation and psychotic episodes. He also has a habit of drifting off in a daydream, especially when the stars are visible and he fantasizes about travel.Veero also helps keep him grounded, and sometimes Den will randomly touch his robot's face and body to make sure he is real. Despite his mental health issues, Den is quite daring and audacious, and thirsts for adventure. He has the travel bug something awful, and is constantly looking for inspiration.

He has tended to be a bit of an asshole in the past, and even been quite selfish. He is ambivert.

While irkens all possess the same genitalia, gender is still a societal construct, though gender diversity is more common. Den happily identifies as a non-binary male. He is also pansexual, and sexually active.

• Gadgets/Equipment/Inventions •

 As said, Den has the ability to hack and engineer. Becuase of this, he has created quite a few gadgets for himself. These include, but are not limited to:

-Veero. A SIR unit that he had build from an existing scrap SIR unit. He has added modifications to his robot, including an over-sized arm that has the ability to grab distant objects, much like a claw machine claw. He is in the process of finding Veero a second eye, as only having one greatly impairs his information retrieval function.

-PAK detector. With this gadget, Den is able to detect any irken individual within a certain radius. This is because the device can detect the precense of an irken PAK. It can also retrieve information such as the irken's occupation or encoded PAK status. 

-Cloaking device. Den has stolen technology from inventions such as the MegaDoomer in order to turn his ship,Veero, and himself, invisible. He fitted the ship with an inbuilt cloaking device, but also wears a little device under his scarf in the event of an emergency.
