Backstory (Copy and pasted):

Humble was born into the world with a mother, a father, and an older sister, or so it seemed.

Humble's mother, a divine spirit of life, love, kindness, and freedom, overlooks a small tribe of druids. Her name was Thebbit. One day, a peculiar man wandered into the tribe wounded and starving. She and the druids nursed him back to health. Thebbit took a great interest in this strange man. He was charismatic, kind, and helpful. She knew him Tannon.

Thebbit and Tannon quickly fell in love. Thebbit, being the Spirit that protected the Druids, and Tannon, the one who helps the Druids in any way possible. Soon Thebbit gave birth to their first child, Clever.

Clever was born a bit different from other Harengons, sporting a lion-like tail. But other than that, she was well and normal. Clever was a kind and quick-witted one. Often finding creative solutions to any problem that crossed her.

In the time after Clever's birth, Tonnan started to grow distant. Despite his excitement when Clever was born, Thebbit woke up one day to find Tannon gone a year after Clever was born.

Almost 9 years later, Tannon returned. With many sweet words, he found his way back at Thebbit's side and even Clever's forgiveness. And thus, a year later their second child, Humble was born.

Humble lacked most defining Harengon traits. Instead, small tusks like an Orc or a bore grew from his mouth, his eyes were similar to that of a goat, his nose was like a bat, and a tail like his sisters. Despite this, both Thebbit and Tonnan Loved him.

It became very clear shortly after, however, that Tannon greatly favored Humble over Clever. This favoritism was all too clear, and despite Thebbit's best efforts, it seemed Tannon lost all love for Clever and Thebbit herself.

Tannon became complacent around the tribe too, as well as Irritable, and even somewhat violent. He found joy in the suffering of those he disliked, often setting pit falls for those he hunted with, and leaving them there for hours, or tieing them to the tree they leaned against to nap.

However, the final straw that sent Thebbit to isolate her and herself and her tribe once and for all was when a 3-year-old Humble told her, that Papa had shown him how to set a bear trap. This bear trap was not to catch any animals, but a young tribe hunter who had upset him early that day.

Venturing out with Humbles lead not only did they find the young hunter, but there was Tannon, standing over her, taunting her. Thebbit, in turn, banished him, stripped him of his weapon, his knowledge of the tribe's location, and his right foot.

From then on the tribe was peaceful and prosperous, or so it seemed. On the night of Clever's "Coming of Age," at midnight exactly, it's as if hell itself ripped open the mortal plane. And before Humble and his mother's eyes, dragged beneath the earth by demon itself. Then only words he uttered "Ircirfrin's payment has been received, welcome home, Clever." And with a wicked grin and a long stair at Humble, he vanished, only lingering tongues of his hellish language remaining in the air for a few fleeting moments. Just like that, Humble and his mother were never the same.

Thebbit hid the tribe the next day, not just from sight, but from all senses. Thought who do not know the path in, may never hope to find her small tribe. No one was restricted from leaving, no one was restricted from coming back either, but not a new soul would be welcomed in without the full trust of the entire Tribe. Only one since then has been allowed to live in the tribe, but only because they one of the tribe's members, and only because there love has not faltered for there child or spouse after 5 years.

Humble from then on has only had waking lucid dreams from that demon. When he was younger they were just that, nightmares, however, as he got older, they became more real. Waking up in the night to find burns on his feet as if he had been in hell itself. His sister in his dreams knew of things that she was not on the plane to know, yet spoke as if it she was there. She urgency for him to wake up, and tell mother to try and save him, made it so.

What Humble was unaware about however, was that night his mother did not hear what he heard the demon say. As clearly as if it was common, he heard him say "Soon, I will welcome my strongest beast home, only 10 more." as he locked eyes with, Humble.

Thebbit, mortified, and Angry, used all her power to seal Humble away from this demon's site, however, it was clear that the hold the demon had was stronger than she could ever hope to be. Both of them knew, that sooner or later, Humble would be next.

Humble nightmares stop for a time after the seal, which left Humble and his tribe somewhat relieved. However on the night of his coming of age, at exactly midnight, while he slept off the druidic and hunter's tonics, perhaps the worst nightmare, not even nightmare, but more of a tug on that haphazardly tangled curse. The demon attempted to reach him.

The demon attempted to grab at Humble, pull him, mame him, something. The demon cursed and taunted Humble. However the demon let slip 3 very important details.

  1. Humble's Father, Tannon or Ircirfren, was his warlock.
  2. Killing his warlock would render all his 'payment' or child that have not been taken void.
  3. Humble is the 6th child, the current youngest. But is not the last.

With this, he woke up, his body bandaged, his feet burnt. It was clear that this demon could still touch Humble, if ever so "lightly", but time was ticking.

Humble started trading hand-widdled goods to the nearby town. Given his face scared people he widdled himself a mask for when he was not at home. Threw his dreams he knew his father was in hiding from the current state of events outside his Mother's tribe. However, the world changed suddenly, and without warning.

Something that happened, far away from his secluded little home, had it's ripple effect. And his father was out and about again. Not only that, but so was the demon, and his siblings. Attempting to gain info from travelers who stopped and bought his famous local trinkets, he was readying to leave home, even tho his mother was conflicted by it. She wanted him to have his freedom, be she didn't want him to dissipate out of her reach. Humble Promassed she would know when he left, because he would never leave without warning.

He planned on leaving in a few weeks after gathering enough coin. However, his plans soon changed when the small tourist town he sold his widdlings at was attacked. Though Humble remains fuzzy on the details, he stood over the bodies of the attacks. A bloodied war hammer in his hands. The corps burned with what he could only describe as his mother's light.

That night he went home, said his goodbyes, told his mother too that he would send mail to the inn in the local town, and left. The gifts he was given for saving the little town was enough to head out in search of his father, the demon, and his siblings.

Some detail outside the long-winded backstory.
