Personality/Attitude: Lately Whitaker has been taking steps to be more independent after several incidents that have been traumatizing for him. He's making good progress with the help of his service dog, Maple. He can be secretive about his past but doesn't lie about it. He doesn't usually let his guard down unless he's alone or with someone he really trusts, which makes him seem pretty antisocial even though he craves attention. Overall he is a fairly discreet presence - quiet, polite, and supportive. However he has a low tolerance for confrontation and often simply leaves if there is a disagreement. He becomes very flirty when he drinks.

Backstory: Whitaker's family consists of a conservative mother, permissive father, and a rebellious older brother. When he entered puberty, he became afflicted with a strange disease. This disease soon changed him forever, and he grew wings and his eyes turned a golden color. His personality mellowed out and his appetite changed dramatically as well. He was becoming, in essence, "angelic", which is what the media called it.

His family became very protective of him because of this, though he was still a bit rebellious and snuck out of the house every so often. One of these times he was kidnapped by people intent on selling him or his wings/eyes on the black market, as other such cases around the world had made a lucrative market for such things. Luckily for him, someone saw the kidnapping take place and called the police, but since then he decided that he would make himself undesirable, and thus began his self-mutilation. His blindness is a result of this.
