- ● Lise has a deep fear of being left alone/abandoned. This is why she clings desperately to every relationship she makes, for better or for worse.
- ● Her powers are unbelievably strong for a Brainer, and it is assumed that the Maelstrom strike as well as years of training and direct Maeslstrom interface caused her Brainer abilities to blossom beyond what was once thought possible.
- ● The true nature of the Spires where she and other Brainers were kept is much darker than Lise has any concept of.
Abel Found Lise when she escaped, half-dead from the Spire when it was hit by the Maelstrom Flare. He invited her to stay with him while she healed, and the bond they forged while she convalesced is strong to this day. When Abel needs assistance with psychic maladies in his clinic, Lise is happy to help.
Grim Grim met Lise when his wife and children had just been murdered, and was suffering severe PTSD. Though she knew she couldn't "cure" him, Lise used her Brainer powers to try and ease his pain, accidentally touching on memories that had been suppressed. When Grim sought revenge on his family's killer, Lise was there, but Grim refused to let her take part in the act of vengeance--he realized he still had the instincts of a parent, and wanted to protect Lise like the children he wasn't able to. Grim is now a father figure to Lise.
Lise is a gentle, sweet and somewhat naive young woman, but her exterior belies a mass of terrifying mental acuity, power and trauma. She was a Brainer who lived at a Spire (an isolated complex connected directly to the Psychic Maelstrom where Brainers are said to be trained to use their psychic abilities), when it was struck by an unexpected Maelstrom flare. The closeness and power of the hit drove many of her kin and friends insane, if not rendering them catatonic. Lise is assumed to be the sole survivor of this event
Lise has a rather childlike appearance and affect due to her years of isolation in the Spire, where she was unable to have contact with the outside world aside from Maelstrom-induced visions. She is desperate for human contact and relationships, willing to befriend and get to know anyone to a foolhardy extent. This can come despite the opposing party's intent to cause damage to her/her friends.
