Explanation
The Garden was a comic I worked on during 2016, unfortunately being discontinued early 2017. I worked on it pretty hard, so It’s worth sharing my work and notes on it. That being said, this blog is for archival purposes only.
Please note: This version of the story is not available for “adoption”/ I won't be giving it to someone else.
Issues (i have) with the comic
Note: this is more of a personal note for the future, and these are the ones I’m aware of and therefore may not contain all of them.
VISUALLY
-The panel borders “Blend in” with the panels/don’t stand out against the colors as much as they should
-Some pages have similar composition (Ex, the first two panels on pages 11 and 12)
-Inconsistent style (Earlier pages have a thicker line weight than later ones)
-Coloring is “Grungy” in contrast to the line art style (More easily seen in the background.) and can appear a little too saturated in some areas.
STORY
-Characterization is inconsistent (ex: P’s switch from being unsure/anxious to being supportive and calmer in the last few pages)
-Wyne isn’t a very likable character in the first chapters and doesn’t show any redeemable traits.
-Pacing feels fast and forced
