NOTE: There are two main story lines for my Deputy, her cannon one involving the actual events that take place in Far Cry 5 and Far Cry New Dawn, and her story in Make and Effort (MAE) which is a No One Dies AU for both Far Cry 5 and Far Cry New Dawn. There will be notes for which information belongs to which story line.

Name: Anna May Shawn (goes by Anna May, Anna, Dep/Deputy, Rook/Rookie, or Judge)
Gender: Female (trans woman) Goes by she/her and they/them pronouns (only used They/Them pronouns as the Judge)
Relationship:

Cannon: Was in a Relationship with Joey Hudson until her death, gets into a relationship with Jess Black after Far Cry New Dawn

MAE: Gets in a relationship with Joe Hudson

Birthday: May 23rd
Sexuality: Lesbian
Species: Human
Age: 28(FC5), 45(FCND)

Personality (Pre Far Cry 5): Doesn’t want to be a leader and prefers to be in the back seat than the one at the wheel. Anna May enjoys outdoor activities, mainly hiking through the Whitetail Mountains, and other outdoorsy activities so long as her feet are planted on the ground as shes terrified of heights. Anna May loves recklessly driving fast through the woods and prides herself in being the best driver in Hope County. She has a car she loving named Cynthia thats a 1996 Corolla that is set up with bright neon lights. Shes easy to get along with and it’s not hard to convince her to do stupid things like zip line down to fight a group of Peggie’s or to set a horde of angels on fire. Anna May hates anime as people make fun of her name but has that one guilty show she likes and is ashamed of doing so. She loves memes, though memes with anime characters are on thin fucking ice. She doesn’t like Edens Gate and is very reluctant in fighting the cult head on, believing there could be a peaceful option besides killing, however, you’re not really given a choice in what you can do. All of her attempts at friendly negotiations have led to torture, manipulation, and conditioning, forcing her to decide to resist. Anna May becomes ever so guilty as she goes through with killing the Seed siblings, but believes that she is doing the right thing because she is saving people from the Seed family. After Jacobs region, Anna May had a period of time where she was terrified of doing anything, believing that Jacob's conditioning has made her into a monster. It took her a while to break out of that mindset, a mindset that slowly resurfaces after the world ends.

Personality Cannon: By New Dawn, after witnessing terror after terror and becoming overcome with guilt for getting her girlfriend and coworkers killed, killing the Seed siblings, and for correlating the end of the world, Anna May is desperate to find some way to redeem herself. Convinced all of her friends who may or may not have survived hate her, Anna May happily becomes Joseph's Judge, all the while remaining miserable and afraid, not because of Joseph himself, but for fear of finding out what harm exactly her actions has caused among the still living survivors of Hope County and possibly repeating those mistakes again. Anna May constantly has dreams about the Seed siblings and of Whitehorse, Pratt, and Hudson. The dreams usually range from being normal, domestic like ones, always set in the Hope County prison, but either during or before the fight with Eden's Gate, where Anna May is briefly unaware that the Collapse has happened, or she would be aware and beg the dream versions of the people whose deaths she's caused for forgiveness. She wants to go back to Prosperity and do anything to regain any forgiveness she thinks she needs, but that desire is outweighed by her fear for what they would say if her worst fears came true. Anna May lashes out more and draws inward, keeping to herself and attacking anyone that tries digging into her past, something she is very determined to keep secret, even from her own friends. By the time of Ethan, Lou, and Joseph's deaths, Anna May has learned to forgive herself and do what Joseph has been encouraging her to do this whole time and finally let go of her past, bringing herself peace and relief from the pain shes been making herself suffer for all of these years. She hates cars and radios, mainly for the  fear of Only You coming onto the radio and she ends up killing the very few people she cares about that are alive, but also from what happened when she tried to save people by driving to Dutches bunker.

Personality MAE: Her time after the events of FC5 were difficult. Her reveal to the rest of Hope County did not go well with mostly everyone and she had a hard time dealing with the abandonment from a lot of people who were once her friends. She learns to accept the consequences of her actions and decides to focus on building up the Seed ranch with those who decided to stick by her side, helping in the shadows when she can. She slowly gains some trust back from some of the lesser upset members of Hope County and builds up a trust again, though she was not the person they went to to get help from the Highwaymen. She wants to defeat them but is willing to stand aside and just let Griffin take care of the situation with the Twins, not because she doesn't want to fight them, but because she knows no one will trust her again to truly take care of the counties problems. (Will update more once I reach the FCND and Post!Collapse parts of MAE)

Story: FC5: Anna May was born in a county outside of Hope County in Montana. She has 2 younger brothers and very strict parents. She was told at a young age to always work hard and to always work harder than those around her, putting a lot of stress on her in an early age that led to future depression and anxiety. She went to college for a year where she started to learn to be more dependent and dropped out at the rage of her parents. She decided to join the police force and it was during that time in the academy where she came out as transgender. Her parents dropped contact with her and she kept communication with her siblings in secret. She got a job to work security for the FANG Center and moved to Hope County. Sheriff Whitehorse, to get her accustomed with the then peaceful Edens Gate, took her to one of their recruiting BBQs and she first met the Seed family. She later became friends with John Seed and the two became pals for years until stories coming from the cult became more and more horrifying and Anna May had to confront him about them. They argued and their friendship broke. Some years later, she left the security job and decided to become a full fledged officer and she became the Rookie Deputy, and was sent along with US Marshall Burke and Whitehorse and her fellow deputies to arrest Edens Gate Father, Joseph Seed. After the group got captured by Eden's Gate, with Anna May being the only one to escape, Anna May decided to try to talk to John Seed again. After an initial argument between the two, Anna May began to dismantle the cult, going between Holland Valley and the Henbane River, to tear apart Faith and John's hold on the regions.

Cannon: She killed them both before moving onto Jacob. In Jacob's region she experienced the closest thing to hell in Hope County as Jacob relentlessly attacked her and the Whitetail militia, in his own bit of revenge against the Deputy's murder of his brother and sister without breaking Joseph's orders. After Eli's death, Anna May allowed Jacob to flee to the Veteran's Center before launching a full on assault on it with the militia, where she chased him and killed him far outside the facility. She spent weeks with the other Deputies at the prison on the Henbane, recovering from the assault on Jacobs bunker and Eli's death. During this time, Anna May and Hudson got together and began dating. When she left the prison, alone, one day, she got radioed in saying lots of people (the ones Joseph takes) and Anna May goes to the Eden's Gate compound to confront him. She beats and arrests Joseph Seed and proceeds to watch the bombs fall. Anna May drives Whitehorse, Pratt, Hudson, and Joseph to Dutches bunker where Hudson, Pratt, and Whitehorse are left at the car crash as Joseph takes Anna May to Dutches bunker and kills Dutch.

MAE: Anna May was set on killing the Seed siblings, but her digging into John's past has led her to be more suspicious of what Joseph's plan really is. Convinced that this whole thing was a set up to start his own end of the world scenario and continue to convince people to follow him, as well as letting he residual feelings about her past friendship with John influence her, she spares him and takes him to Dutch's bunker. She makes a plan with them to convince Faith and Jacob to stand down, convincing Dutch they need the family as witnesses to Eden's Gate/ Joseph's crimes and they were not going to get that without all four of them. Anna May stops Faith from using Burke to kill Virgil, stopping both of their deaths. Burke finds out about thei plan and is furious with Anna May, but after talking to Dutch, and time, Burke is more willing to work with the Seeds. Anna May experiences much of what she experiences in her cannon story for Jcob's region, minus her trying to get alone with him to convince him that his family is alive and that he needs to stand down. After Jacob's fight, Anna May gets with Hudson, and on the day of Camina's birth, decides to tell Whitehorse and the Deputies about the plan, but is unable to cause Joseph kidnaps everyone. The Collapse happens after Joseph's fight and she, Joseph, Burke, Pratt, and Hudson go to Dutch's bunker where they get into a car crash. Anna May blacks out as she's being dragged back to the bunker...

New Dawn: Cannon: After spending years in Dutches bunker alone with Joseph Seed, Anna May has become obsessed with finding some way to atone for the things she has done. After many failed attempts at finding redemption by herself, Anna May decides to find it in others and pledges her loyalty to Joseph Seed, in hopes that maybe, by finding forgiveness from him, she can learn to forgive herself. She spends years with Joseph, helping him recreate Eden's Gate under the new guise of New Eden. Anna May helped Joseph raise his son, Ethan, who is more than aware of what Anna May has done and who she is. Before Joseph's disappearance up north, Joseph tells Anna May to wait for the shepard with his book. His prophecy came true with the arrival of the Captain, Griffin, and Anna May's god daughter, Carmina. Griffin returns Joseph home where Joseph tells Ann May to help Griffin chase the Highwaymen out of Hope County. After arguing with Joseph, where Griffin finds out Anna May can talk, Griffin questions her on her past, where she refuses to give away anything. Putting his own clues together, Griffin finally confronts Anna May on who she is, who refuses to confirm it. Griffin demands the whole story and she gives it, making Griffin want to help her return home. Anna May refuses and, later, Carmina finds out who Anna May is. When Thomas gets captured and Griffin shot, Anna May tries to help Griffin, but is taken prisoner, and brought to the Bullet Farm in the old Hope County jail. There, Anna May is interrogated by the Twins for New Eden's gift, while also is hallucinating about the Seeds and Pratt, Hudson, and Whitehorse. The arrival of Ethan brings them away, where Griffin helps her escape from the prison. Outside of the prison, Anna May is finally forced to choose if she wants to continue being the Judge or if she wants to let go. Anna May chooses to let go and, after having one last dream of the Seeds and her old coworkers, Anna May finally forgives herself, realizing it wasn't Joseph she needed to look to for forgiveness. Anna May reveals herself to a surprised, yet happy, Prosperity, and shes welcomed back with open arms. Anna May does the derby where she finds out Ethan is taking the Twins to Prosperity and she and Griffin run to New Eden and fight the Twins, killing Lou and leaving Mickey alive. They fight Ethan and in the end, when Joseph asks Griffin to kill him, Anna May helps Griffin build Joseph's pyre, setting his body on fire along with the tree he took care of for so long. AT Prosperity, Anna May finally feels at peace, and she spends time catching up with her old friends and helping those who are left over from New Eden rebuild in the New World.

MAE: Anna May wakes up in the bunker, everyone alive, panicked and afraid that everyone has been left behind, when she is greeted by Dutch. He informs her that Jacob and John had gotten to the car as Joseph was about to leave with her, getting Burke, Hudson, and Pratt to safety. The others were not responsive at the moment, but they were stable and able to recover with no permanent injuries. Relieved, Anna May goes to find out what happened to Joseph, who is unresponsive to everyone in the bunker. None of his siblings know what to do and none of them can look him in the eye, although Faith has more of a temper towards the Father, now that the Collapse has finally come, but not in the way he promised it would. Hudson and Pratt finally wake up and find out about the Seeds survival, both rightfully angry and scared. Hudson is particularly angry and doesn't want to speak to Anna May. Joseph finally snaps out of whatever trance he was in and tries to gain some control in the bunker, but fails so due to being trapped with people who are reluctant to trust him or downright hostile towards him. Anna May, Jacob, John, Burke, and Dutch make plans to make supplies last as long as they can. At one point Joseph tries to convince Jacob to help him take control of the bunker with him, but Jacob declines. A rickety trust is formed between the deputies and the Seed siblings (minus Joseph) and they are ready to work together by the time they leave the bunker. Anna May and Hudson have a long much needed talk about the Seeds and what Anna May has done, but Hudson is no longer as angry with her as she was before and they are able to fix their relationship over time. They make their way to the Seed Ranch and began to rebuild, making a temporary home to go back to before trying to find more survivors in Hope County. They get to Falls End and find a still living Mary May and Whitehorse, who both were pulled into bunkers when the bombs fell. Mary May is rightfully angry with the survival of the Seeds and kicks Anna May and the others out of Falls End. They go back to the Seed ranch where John and Joseph have an argument. Joseph leaves that night and is unable to be found. More members of Hope County leave their bunkers, most feeling betrayed and angry by Anna May and her actions. Dutch leaves to go back to his bunker as he misses it. The Whitetails show up and threaten to kill the Seeds if they so much as see them outside of the ranch ever again and that Anna May isn't one of them anymore. Tracy and Virgil show up and Faith and Tracy are able to repair their friendship. Over time, Anna May and the Seeds are able to build a rickety trust with the rest of Hope County, but are completely ignored by New Eden. When the Highwaymen attack, Kim and Carmina go to the ranch and Prosperity is made. Anna May watches Faith and Tracy leave with Carmina to go get Rush. Anna May stays at Prosperity most of the time when Griffin arrives and starts to get to work on stopping the Highwaymen. She joins in on making a plan to prevent the Twins from killing him and Rush at the fertilizer plant as well as making the plan to save John from the Twins at the Bullet Farm. She has an argument with Joseph about bringing the Highwaymen into New Eden and he is furious, still blaming her for his families betrayal and accusing her of manipulating them. He uses Bliss to get Anna May to kidnap his siblings and bring them to the Tree of Eden. Griffin talks him down and she is freed. She lives in Prosperity with Hudson.
