Aelius is considered merciful by rrex standards-- he listens to reason, and does not let bias cloud his judgement. His morals are strong and steadfast, and he believes that the law should serve the people. Although he behaves in an extremely civil manner, he is not against taking up force to back his statements, and will readily accept duels and challenges to make a point. This is how he's built his reputation, allowing his claw to support the people he wishes to protect and guide. He believes that society should take care of those who cannot take care of themselves, and that the wilderness should be tamed to make the world a safer and more prosperous place for all-- thus, he took over the High Circle, a group which looks towards the cities of ancient times as a role model for where to aim for in the future.

History

Aelius grew up in Ichorrai. His childhood and adolescence was full of hardship and hard work, and he has spent ages building up towards his vision of what he believes is the ideal future. He has always been plagued with visions of the past in his dreams, and he left the city to isolate himself in the wilderness, trying to glean their meaning.

When he returned, he challenged the sitting Sentinel of Ichorrai and managed to beat him in a duel-- this is how he unseated a major player of corruption, though the scar on his chest was the price he had to pay for it.
