Profile
Red River is not, in fact, red. Rather he is a speckled blue-grey that allows him to camouflage himself in the mountain rivers where he lives. He gets his name from the red clay that lines the riverbanks. He makes his home in the side of a nearby hill at the foot of the mountains, and fishes and hunts in the cold water.
Pottery is Red's biggest passion. In fact, he makes so much that he has to make regular trips to nearby humanoid settlements so that he can trade his pieces away, just to make room for more! Because of this, he is often willing to trade beautiful pieces for next to nothing, a trait which has granted him a positive reputation among villagers he does business with.
While Red is generally solitary, he is not unfriendly. If one were to stumble across his well-hidden den, he would invite them in for a freshly-brewed cup of tea, though he would likely hurry them along before they could touch too many of his belongings. In town he is cheerful, eagerly doing business with anyone who is willing. He often makes little toys and trinkets especially for children and is willing to trade them for pressed leaves or a pretty stone, which he keeps in a large bowl in his den.
Physical Description (Dragon form):
Red is relatively small for a dragon, though it is possible that he has not yet reached his full size. He is blue-grey, with speckles along his face and back and a lighter stomach. His skin is smooth and unscaled, and thick with a layer of blubber underneath, especially on his chest and stomach, granting him a round, chubby appearance. His snout is round, with nostrils he can close to keep water out, like a seal's. His eyes are large and dark, adapted for underwater vision. His ears are not very mobile, and are angled back to prevent drag in the water. His neck and legs are short, causing him to walk with a bit of an awkward waddle. His paws are beaverish, with mobile front digits and webbing on the back. His tail is thick, heavy, and webbed like a tadpoles, providing him with greater underwater thrust. He has no gills but is capable of holding his breath for extended periods of time. While his claws are blunt, his teeth are sharp and adapted to crack open crustacean shells, a key part of his diet.
He often wears jewelry he has made, usually in the form of bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. He is often smudged with bits of clay as well.
Physical Description (Humanoid form):
Red, in his humanoid form, stands at about 5'5", with a thick build and short limbs. He is dark haired and thickly bearded, with dark eyes. His ears are slightly pointed, as are his teeth, though he does not appear threatening. He prefers simple clothing that is easy to clean, and prefers comfort over fashion. However, he still wears jewelry, though he is frequently willing to trade the pieces he is wearing. He often has clay on him, usually on his hands or face, or under his nails. He has visible speckles, like in his dragon form, across his shoulders and back and even his face, like grey freckles. Unbeknownst to Red, it is generally quite easy to tell that he is actually a dragon, though villagers don't often bring it up out of courtesy and because he is so pleasant to be around.
