quick summary: ilan coming from the turkish word “yılan” which means snake. in the setting he’s from, a post apocalyptic future, humans evolved in many different directions. the “vampires” of this world are more reminiscent of snakes. there are also “fish people” and any other biological mutations you can think of. society in this world “regressed” in a sense. after a nearly planetary collapse humans started to evolve again as they couldn’t mend their environment to their needs anymore, at least not in the same scale with “magic” becoming the staple electricity became obsolete. humanity never got the swing back to the former civilization and split apart in some areas. ilan is a rather unwelcome mutation; being one who feeds on other humans resulting in him living rather isolated from others, his kind are also rather rare.
