"You ever feel like a side character in your own life? Like you can feel somebody else havin' more fun?"

"I'm glad she's still alive, but...wouldn't have killed her to have filled me in earlier."

Raena Brooks is a contracted courier for the Freedom Fighters division stationed in the city she currently resides in. The packages comes, she seeks out the address typically through a contact, and she drops it off. Easy, pays well, and fairly uneventful...at least until recently.

The job wasn't sought out so much as forced upon her by her younger half-sister, who joined GUN as a young adult only to defect and join the Freedom Fighters under the radar, leaving her family to think she'd died in action with GUN.

At an early age, her father-- a businessman-- fell in love with a single farmhand in the countryside a ways away from the city Raena was used to. They'd compromise by moving to the suburbs near the city, and had Raena's half sister. THe two grew up rather separate from one another, her sister being taken off to the farm her mother worked on more often than Raena cared to follow along, preferring the city and the friends she made within.

When Eggman's robotic forces eventually stormed the countryside and forced them to move into the city itself, Raena realized just how different the worlds they resided in were; her sister wouldn't be able to see most of her friends ever again, and the depression she experienced gave Raena secondhand guilt, partially since she couldn't sympathize.

Raena's sister would enlist with GUN as soon as possible, a move her family wasn't expecting and didn't know how to handle. For Raena, it felt like she failed as a sister, given that she had to go to such extremes to get over what happened to her friends.

Letters from boot camp were monthy during her year long stint of training, and they slowed down to sporadic when she was properly put in service. Two years into service, however, the letters slowed to a crawl until the wait became worrying. The next letter to come in the mail was a notification that she'd gone missing in action.

Raena as well as her family was devastated. The melancholy atmophere as well as her own guilt was too much for her, moving out and into the city against her parents protests, promising to call them often to ensure them she was safe.

After a year of bouncing between jobs, a heavy package was delivered to her door, with an envelope taped to the outside with a familiar name written on it...

Raena is a quiet, observing girl who doesn't often approach others for conversation. Anyone who breaks the ice first would learn that she's a playfully snarky person who wont skip an opportunity to tease somebody over the slightest slip-up or odd detail about themself, though it's all in good fun, for the most part. She's considerably tight-lipped about her occupation and most details about herself, partially because she considers herself to be slightly boring, and part because she feels that her line of work isn't something to be talked about openly. A friend of hers that had saved her behind in the midst of a botched delivery recently started giving her self defense lessons as well, though their relationship can be inferred to be more than just that of friends.
