Gabriel

Gabriel grew up in a fairly religious household. He always knew deep down that he was queer, but he didn't know the words or communities until he was in highschool. He kept it from his parents until he was in junior year, where he came out and promptly was kicked out and disowned. Luckily for him, his good friend, Mark, was moving out and was renting a fairly large house. He moved in with Mark and over time more friends moved in. The friend group is a big family, supporting each other and helping others who need it.

When Eden started pestering them, Gabriel was the first to think that she might need help. As someone with religious trauma himself, he could see the signs of it in her. He also learned she was homeless and needed help, so he was adament they help her despite the others finding her a bit of a nuisance.

He quickly got very close to her, trying to break down her walls and help her see how being queer isn't a one way ticket to hell. There were some things about Eden that she wouldn't explain, but he tried to not push despite his curiosity. They earned each other's trust and the feelings that developed between them seemed inevitable, but Eden's hesitance made Gabriel follow her lead.

Eden leaving was like a stab in the gut to him. He had helped Eden learn who she was, helped her trust and believe in the progressive efforts that he stood for, he revealed things to her that he never revealed to anyone before. Her leaving after such vulnerable moments was a betrayal he would never fully forgive. He tried to be understanding, but Eden gave little to no explanation. He believed she left because she couldn't handle being ruined and sinful like him. She couldn't handle being a queer. What else was he suppoed to believe?
