Introduction

Howl, mistaken for a dragon's egg, was raised and mentored by an maniacal warlock. Howl refused to follow in his teacher's footsteps, and turned his attention to the stars. Howl has spent centuries accumulating a breadth of knowledge on magics and dark arts. Despite being a warlock, he is a respected practitioner of the arcane due to his keen eye and hunger for curiosity. When Howl becomes invested in a project or magical phenomena, the rest of the world tends to fade into the background. He'll go days without resurfacing from his observatory, going as far to neglect meals. Only after his work is complete, will he seek out others to share his discoveries.

Many aspiring witches, wizards and magical figures Howl's age seek him out for guidance despite him causing more trouble than it's worth. He seems professional, but in truth he is a hot mess. Howl internally remains truly neutral. He is neither altruistic nor malicious, but he is primarily motivated by personal interest and opportunity. If helping someone benefits his goals, advances his research, or presents an intriguing challenge, he may offer assistance. Because of this, many people find him difficult to predict.

Personality

On first impression, Howl is whimsical, charming, and playful. He eagerly dabbles in unusual theories and isn't afraid to join in on harmless mischief. While he is highly intelligent, his emotional awareness is noticeably less developed. If he senses conflict, he's quick to avoid it. Especially if it risks emotional entanglement. This is a result of his upbringing, as his mentor, whom was also his father figure, never bothered investing in him emotionally. Since Howl resorts to avoiding conflict like the plague, if he can't, he tends to approach problems logically. As a result, his honesty can come across as blunt despite rarely intending to cause harm.
