Sagekit was born within TideClan's camp, to his mother Hatchflight. A single mother after her mate, Rainbriar, left the clan to live alone without the clan. Throughout her time in the nursery, many expected and waited for when she too would get up and leave to join her mate. Although for the time being she proved she wasn't leaving the camp. Not when her three sons were so young. Her kits being Sagekit, Shimmerkit and Molekit.

As the kits got older it was starting to become more and more apparent that Hatchflight wasn't happy in TideClan without her mate. Still many cats were waiting for her to leave. As the kits became 4 moons old, Hatchflight left in the middle of the night, without a word to anyone, not even to her kits. Abandoned the three kits were lost without their mother, but Sagekit soon became the leader of his litter, wanting to ensure his brothers were well cared for, Although he worried that his brothers too would leave looking for their mother and father that abandoned them. Although he was determined that he wouldn't abandon his family. Not for anything.

As the three kits soon became 6 moons old, the last 2 moons of their life the three of them spent with mainly with themselves, not allowing many others to come close to them. Only really the other queens. Although, as they became apprentices, the three almost seem determined to not only stay close, but to make some more friends within the clan. Sagepaw was apprenticed to a guard called Sleetfish, as soon as his guard training began he began putting all his anger and frustration on his parents abandoning him and his brothers into his training. Eventually he trained to be a skilled fighter, in order to protect his family and his clan.

Eventually it was time for him and his sibings to be given their full names. He was given the name Sageskull. He was ready and determined to continued protect his family and his clan even more so now. As the moons passed he fought in battles against MossClan and ensured the borders were well protected with his fellow guards.

As the night of many TideClanners left, to leave for DuskClan with Floraldusk, he stood by the entrance waiting for any stragglers to return, and sure enough they did. The news broke out that DuskClan had been made and one of Monarchstar's kits, Coralkit, had been stolen and taken to the newly made clan. Disgusted at this act, he swore he'd never abandon his clan for any reason and he'd assure that no traitors would ever return to the clan.
