Komi was a bit of a trouble maker as a child, because of his excessive energy. His parents worried about him, because he was smart enough to make something great of his life, but didn't have enough focus to actually do it. In the end they had him join the army, to be trained under his cousin Iavin, who knew him well enough to know how to handle him. Komi got bored quickly, and Iavin was about to loose it when Dhowran also joined. Komi, who had never met a halfelf before, was fascinated. Dhowran was, at that point of his life, very down, and Komi just annoyed him at first. But eventually he grew used to the elfs antics. The two proved to be a good infuence on each other; Komi cheered Dhowran up, and Dhowran somehow caused Komi to be less difficult to handle. When Dhowran deserted the elfin army, Komi followed him. They started working as mercenaries in the human lands. Dhowran was married to Mardun, an innkeeper, for 12 years, during which Komi lived in the inn with them untill they got divorced and Dhowran and he went back to the mercenary life.
