Due to his generally very caring and friendly disposition, Treat was brought into the Dreamy Sanctuary as a sort of therapudic friend for one of their other residents, a Dreamy inflicted with the third eye parasite. Though he didn't know of this when he was brought in, he has always been very protective and caring for his friend, and always makes sure he eats enough and gets enough rest.

Before he was brought to the Sanctuary, Treat belonged to a frail elderly woman for much of his life. Specially raised to serve as a therapy companion and caretaker to her. His naturally loving and empathetic personality made him a perfect candidate to be trained for this duty. He was taught all the signs to look for, and how to help the old woman with all the things she would need daily, whether that be helping her cook, cleaning for her, or even curling up close while she slept or napped to ease her pain with the soothing effects of his dust, helping her sleep. He spent the largest portion of his life with the woman, and came to love her dearly. They had tried to prepare him to deal with the inevitable, but when she passed in her sleep, it hit him very hard. Without anywhere else to go, he found himself at a shelter, alone and very heartbroken. He was in the shelter for nearly a year, eventually overcoming his grief and using his talents to help those who lived there with him. When he was 20 years old, a pair of people came in, looking for a Dreamy to serve as a companion to one of their own, when they were told about Treat, his history, and even the things he did at the shelter, they were eager to take him in, transporting him to the Sanctuary, where he would meet Trick.
