Personality
Moonstone is known for their mysterious and calm demeanor, seen as a quiet observer as they meticulously records what happens around them with great precision. Moonstone has naturally forming long cracks all over them, making them show their opalescence so they cover their arms and legs with long gloves and tights. Due to the cracks, they are prone to shattering completely when they get hit. So, they’re careful and they usually stay indoors. When not out gathering information, Moonstone spends much of their time in the library, organizing and safeguarding the accumulated information of the Gems. Despite their reserved nature, they are approachable and willing to provide advice when asked, often sharing profound wisdom with those who seek it. Their tranquil presence soothes others and their thoughtful approach makes them a trusted, albeit elusive, source of guidance. Due to their sharp intuition and despite their name, they have not been taken to the Moon by the Lunarians like so many of their brethren. Not known to the others, they have very vivid dreams and so seem to know more about what’s going on than they seem.
Appearance
Though they have a similar build to the rest of the Gems, they are a bit shorter due to being prone to cracking and the scarcity of their gem when needing to be repaired. They usually don’t use a lot of the cover power the other gems use due to their situation and so cover up their arms and legs. Their eyes are an opalescence color. They have short fluffy-like hair that gives off an opalescence in color.

| Summer Uniform: Like other Gems, they have a loose dress shirt with a black tie and culottes with black shoes like the other gems. They cover their arms and legs with long dark grey gloves and tights. Winter Uniform: Like other Gems, they wear the same high-collar romper-style suit and ties with shorts and puffy sleeves as well as black shoes like the other gems. They cover their arms and legs with long dark grey gloves and tights. Hibernation Uniform: They wear a white elaborate kimono-style pajama. HistoryThough unknown to the rest of the gems, Moonstone was created by the Lunarians with synthetic material. They can see the gems through their eyes. It’s how they’ve been able to get so many gems over the years. Kongō-sensei found them when Yellow Diamond was very young, making Moonstone almost as old as Yellow Diamond. At some point, real moonstone had replaced the synthetic material in their eyes so now the Lunarians are unable to spy on them.In their youth, they were rather curious and spirited, often wandering recklessly, which led them to being prone to cracking often which eventually prompted them to keep their hair short for practical reasons. Rutile has kept part of their hair to help repair them when needed. Just like the other Gems, they were taught by Kongō-sensei who imparted them with lessons on wisdom and restraint. Though Moonstone adores Kongō-sensei and holds his teachings dear, they harbor knowledge that sets them apart – something that they intuitively understand due to their seeming connection to the moon. Kongō-sensei keeps them close and has tasked them to record what they see around them and the rather vivid dreams that seem to grant them insight into matters others cannot fathom. While it initially made the other Gems wary of them, Moonstone’s calm guidance and thoughtful advice gradually earned their trust and respect, becoming a source of guidance to other Gems. | |||
