Ray is a ecology grad student at 'Magic U' , a University that has a variety of departments focusing on both the mundane and the supernatural. While she is primarily human, an encounter while exploring some ruins and an accidental encounter with an ancient tablet has left her cursed with a draconic affliction- around 3 days a month surrounding the new moon, she is forced to transform into a nature drake, and reserved to patrolling whichever forest she is in while in this form.
Ray can be a bit catty to some of the other staff members, particularly for departments she doesn't view as 'real science' (she's looking at you, linguistic's prof August). Still, her affliction is a little problematic- the need to be in a forest during transformations, and then basically trapped there for 3 days, is problematic to say the least, and at some point she might need to ask around about the tablet and runes on it to see if there is anything she can do to counteract it. But, asking for help? Letting others know she isn't in control? Hahaha going to take a lot for that to happen.

Catty and sarcastic, Ray does not like to open up to people, and puts up strong walls when she can. It is truly a wall though, because she actually cares deeply for everyone around her. If you do take the time to get to know her though, she will slowly open up. Just need to get past the tsundere facade.She is also extremely bi, but expressing her attraction ranges from extremely bad drunk flirting to nervous mumbling. Still, scars sexy.
A few other loose thoughts- Ray is very good with plants (part of her little affliction), so her office is covered with them. She gets very ill in the winter unfortunately, and is often found in the TA office wrapped in blankets and dosed with as much dayquil as she can. She's known as a beast of a grader, but she is overall fair, just tough because she expects a lot out of her students. Though maybe don't take her class in the winter. Due to her more plant-like nature, she has developed a fear a fire, as well as storms, in particular lightening that could start something as devastating as a forest fire. As a nature drake she patrols and is very protective of the forest she is in, and has some power over growth and general nature elements in both drake and human form.

Professor August is the head of the Linguistics department and a Professor that Ray doesn't interact with much, but who she just loves to tease. She probably should try to be a bit nicer but with fashion like that there is just too much to ignore. Character and artwork by Shazzbaa!
