overview
"Saffron is a delicate looking girl with spindly legs and a narrow, petite body. She has a beautiful head, and an incredibly sweet eye. She's relatively conformationally correct. If I had to fault her on one thing, I'd say she's a bit behind in the knee and a little bit straight in the hind leg. However, I don't think that'll be an issue to her longevity or her career as a racehorse or a riding horse in the future."
- Saffron has been through a lot and it shows. She flinches if people move too fast around her and will shy to the back of her stall if she feels threatened.
- Is fiercely protective of people she trusts even when she's scared. No one else will get hurt by anyone ever again, not on her watch.
- Gentle as a lamb and somewhat timid, she is an unsuspectingly good racehorse. She just needed to be given a chance.
- Saffron is a deep closer and likes to surge up from the back. It makes Emmet cringe when she does this, especially in sprints.
Saffa is quite skittish, After losing her maiden in last place she was not given a chance and sold immediately, Stone Gate Stables was an unforgiving stable who was shut down last year due to the MASSIVE account of horse abuse charges. Saffa being one of them she was bred as a 2YO and abused daily, Luckily Phillip came across an Article about the US stable and looked through the horses. the farm was at full capacity but he couldn't deny the skinny mare and colt in the photo and bought them. the storage stall was cleared, tools leaned on the wall and all around and straw was spread. the mare needed a name change as the SGS owners ungracefully dubbed her "Ugly Bitch" the FP EC Crew however has named the beautiful mare after a spice that seems to share her similar color (flaxen chestnut) and they all prefer her new name. Saff was leased at the end of her 4yo year by Ethereal Illusions, who ran her in a maiden race which she won easily. Her future is mostly undecided, but it's looking bright!
