Profile
[Appearance]
A big lioness, this one. Sisay is all muscles and brutish strength; broad shoulders and heavy paws. She lacks the grace and refinement of the fairer sex, opting instead for a jaw set in stone and a scowl on her face. She carries with her the legacy of the desert pride of which she comes from: large paws making it easier to walk on unsteady sand dunes, a light coat to appease the harsh sunrays, and a darker eyelid to not be blinded by the overwhelming light. Nature did try to give her some adornments though, perhaps to make up for her coarse facial features: a barely-visible gradient on her paws, a string of light spots around her neckline, a dorsal stripe from her forehead to the base of her tail, light ear rims, and one pale dot under each eye.
[Personality]
Sisay was a good cub, but in a bad place. The pride she was born in was old-fashioned, valuing males more than females, giving the latter the roles of mothers and followers. Nothing else. But Sisay was happy with it; happy to have a defined place, happy to provide and bring honor to her family. She was raised with strict rules in mind and was an excellent patroller - for her pride was not only prejudiced against lionesses, but against all that was different. A lion bearing colours unalike the pale coats of the desert would be shunned and chased out, and Sisay herself did take part in such shameful actions.
Now that she has left, Sisay tries to keep her ancient values hidden in her heart. She won't pretend to be nice but will be wary and careful - aware that other lions might not think like her, she chooses to remain silent instead of stirring up trouble. Her survival is her priority and she will blend in even if it goes against her beliefs. Actually, she wouldn't mind discovering new beliefs, a new set of rules to follow, even if they clash with the ones she once knew. She only needs direction.
[History]
Sisay comes from a desert pride deeply set in traditional values and mistrust against strangers. She would have been great amongst her ancestors: a model student of the closed mind and an avid follower of strict rules -- but she was born in a time of change and could do nothing against it. She was just reaching adulthood when a change of leadership occured, bringing with it an era of peace and modernization she was not ready for. Deeply upset by those new values, clashing too abruptly with her traditional upbringing, Sisay decided to leave the pride with a few others and try her luck elsewhere.
