Margo is strong-willed, intelligent, empathetic, and tactical, making her the ideal leader of Children's Place. A former foster kid, she ran away from her neglectful environment at age 8, surviving on the streets alone for a few days before meeting Connor, a fellow runaway. The two stuck together and became like surrogate siblings. Margo's unique resourcefulness helped them through many tough times, she had a particular knack for finding well-hidden encampment spots. Over the next few years, several more kids joined them and their encampment grew slightly. Connor, the oldest, had the idea to create a secret place, a safe house to shelter kids with nowhere else to go. He felt it was a bit idealistic, but Margo took this idea to heart, and they spent the following months scouting for the ideal permanent base. They stuck to the older, less looked-after parts of town they knew they could get away with long-term squatting. In an ignored area on the edge of town, Margo found their ideal home. A large, abandoned house with boarded up windows, perhaps once a small schoolhouse. In the beginning, there were only 4 residents. Margo, Connor, Jamie, and Ange.
