Profile

the place for me to stick other nondeveloped aus which don't have as much detail as the modern one nope nevermind moving it here

This is so unorganised I'm so sorry, also since I tend to write both Jade and Scarlett together, these bios might either overlap a lot or I just wrote it in one profile and forgot about the other one.

(i'm working on the organisation part <(and by working i mean using the most inane methods. im planning something ok i hope it works. its like the 'to bake a pie i'm building the oven first' deal. don't ask lmaooo)

Other than the ghost au, Jade is very much romantically involved with Scarlett

(regarding the bio, I recommend also reading scarlett's au bios since I write them as a pair. or I've written it in scarlett's but haven't done so in jade's lol)

Modern AU

  • me reading the previous modern au tab like i don't remember any of this
  • Similar plot as her canon version but set in modern times, world is also exactly the same but set. in modern times.
  • Jade serves Lee (he still sucks, shocker), but meets Scarlett a little earlier in this AU
  • they somehow end up talking to each other (scarlett accidentally nicking Jade on the forehead) and starts dating in secret
  • One day, Lee gets assassinated by someone (it was a very busy day in the house oddly enough) and jade disappears. for several years
  • Then after a very long period of time Jade turns up again, having become the boss of one of the largest crime syndicate in the country
  • and scarlett's pretty miffed by the fact that she just decided to turn up again out of nowhere after disappearing for years pretending everything is fine.
  • (they end up working things out after a lot of stuff, its whatever, and start dating again eventually)
  • Jade (younger) is a lot less. jaded heh and a bit more naive, until she grows older and becomes the boss, then it's just her regular cold self
  • a bit less violent though on account of the fact that its a biiit more complicated to get away with murder in this time
  • Modern AU (crime free edition)
    • appearance-wise it's exactly the same as the modern au except no one is involved in crime or related to someone involved in crime
    • no one in the main story dies, and their problems are like, normal people problems
    • the normal-core au. if you will.
    • i dunno i just didn't want to think about how jade does all her weird bs with scarlett as a mob boss. do mob bosses get vacation days?? can they like. just fuck off for a week to do whatever?

Bnha (retired au)

  • Quirk: Barrier, able to create one, and eventually several barriers that are shaped to her body. They can change size depending on what Jade wants. She uses these barriers to sense her environment, and map out the obstacles in her way. As she gets older, she is able to control the density of the barriers and is able to hold objects in midair. Another usage is to expand the barrier at high speeds, which she uses to catapult either enemies or Scarlett into midair.
  • attends UA, opens a hero agency with Scarlett which is actually a front for the yakuza.
  • her hero outfit is primarily protective, her gloves allow her easier control over her quirk, as well as provide more stimulus towards her fingers (cause...they're really sensitive areas of your body? i guess? im not actually that sure about her gloves)

Ghost

  • In their initial meeting, Scarlett challenges Jade to a fight. Unfortunately, Leon didn't make it in time to stop Jade, or at least warn her not to kill Scarlett, and Jade angrily accepts her challenge
  • It ends tragically, with Scarlett being held down and killed by getting her head crushed.
  • Later on, Jade starts to notice a presence following her around, someone who was not as defined as a normal person, but she assumes it be due to magic at first
  • After others notice her seemingly talking to thin air, she works out that she's being haunted by the very person she had killed.
  • Constantly has eyebags due to the stress of being haunted. You'd think she'd have more ghosts, but actually Scarlett is just a really vengeful person.
  • Scarlett's death also creates a rift between Leon and Jade, as Leon was Scarlett's close friend.
  • ref update means bio update too. granted it's basically the same
  • When the ghost appeared, Jade thought it was just another person. It certainly felt the same, and from what little she's able to see, she doesn't trust. Magic does have funny ways of playing tricks on your eyes.
  • When she finally works out that it was a ghost, she brushes it off. What could a ghost even do to her?
  • And one night in her dreams, the ghost is finally, fully corporeal, distinct, down to the gaping sinew and tissue and muscle of her crushed head
  • Scarlett can't do anything to her but the blood and organs and tissue dripping onto her skin curdles her blood. Every night she listens to the crunch of bone and the squelch of flesh as the warm liquid seeps into her clothes. It's a sound she's heard many times, but from Scarlett it repulses her.
  • And every night when the sky is still dark, she wakes up from her dream, forgetting everything but the horror she felt. And she decides not to sleep again that night
  • ---
  • In real life, the ghost does nothing but loiter in her office, dripping blood that only Jade can feel onto her skin. In her dreams Scarlett is lucid, talking happily to her, just as she remembers her in life
  • (But they've only known each other in life for minutes, barely an hour. Where do those memories come from?)
  • And Scarlett parrots each and every one of Jade's worries, insecurities, and fears to her face, as she leans close and drenches her desk in gore
  • (scarlett's arms are a pretty big motif in her dreams. they're the only thing that remained when the body was cremated.)

RPG

  • Jade kicks Scarlett out of her guild after the latter challenges her
  • also partially due to her extremely reckless and self destructive methods
  • Jade also eventually goes out to find her out of concern
  • also they meet up with an infamous necromancer, Etcher. no one except Chi seems to like her
  • there's not really a story, i just liked the clothes
  • edit 5/5/2023 this is different now i guess. i'll write it later.
  • edit 2. yeah i forgot what i wanted to write.
  • uuuuuum scuffed notes i might revisit later when i decide to focus on this au
  • lee owns the guild, highly competitive, hostile work environment, etc etc
  • he gives up on his own daughter and decides to take in jade instead to train as his successor
  • at some point there is a big match where scarlett fight jade and also she shows up with spell glyphs drawn onto her arms (this isn't like. illegal per se but it is kinda. unseen before? also ultimately not great for scarlett's body because the glyphs end up cutting into her skin. and leaving scars. which then turn into viable glyphs to activate. so yeah
  • scarlett loses, gets kicked out, vanishes for a few years while jade finally takes over the guild and lee "gets killed in an expedition" (but who knows what really happened)
  • So Jade runs the guild, the work environment gets a little less hostile, and jade thinks about scarlett
  • (not exactly sure the motivation as to why she decides to look for scarlett yet. other than being worried, which is a weak explanation at this point.)
  • yeah so she stuffs leon into the seat of acting leader while she fucks off to look for scarlett

Reverse

  • Cape co. is a corrupt company operating under the guise of a research company, with Etcher at the helm
  • Scarlett and Jade are vigilantes and regularly infiltrate the facilities to hinder their progress and also maybe rescue some of their test subjects
  • As in the original univers, Etcher and co hates their guts. but this time Etcher is less of a pacifist so she usually sends assassins on them
  • GHH ok fuck new lore
  • Etcher's motivations are still the same except instead of feeling guilty for her actions and being restrained about it she goes into it full force
  • Under the guise of a research company, she's researching heavily into magic and also likes to kidnap Hexed people to add to her task force
  • (It's like, either they can join her or she'll make them join her. or the secret third option they just get murked)
  • Scarlett joined with her father after he was strong armed into it, and was forced to bring along her daughter. (ok note to self i gotta write this in scarlett's bio)
  • Jade was kidnapped a lot later, after being betrayed by her fellow gang members and brought to Etcher's facility
  • Although extremely resistant at first, she eventually broke enough to stay in line under etcher
  • eventually, scarlett came up with a plan to escape, and jade managed to get herself included in it
  • the both of them were extremely hostile to each other at first, but eventually grow to respect each other
  • yeah so they get out and roam the world (still in their Cape co. uniforms)
  • and then the rest is them becoming vigilantes, falling in love, etc etc i'll think about it later
  • -----
  • personality-wise, jade is the complete opposite of her canon counterpart. She's rowdy, active, prone to fights and has an awful sharp tongue. Although her social skills still suck, she simply doesn't care about it and tends to answer with insults or anger
  • not that she was ever in a position where she needed to be civil
  • she's fully blind in her right eye, and has very little residual vision left in her... left eye (it's a lot less than her canon version because etcher fucked it up for her)
Vampire
  • they're both vampires, also jade is a vampire hunter
  • Jade comes across a newly turned vampire and after seeing her fight, recruits her to become a vampire hunter
  • not spoilers but just a 'wake up in a cold sweat to write this' ramble

  • Okay so change of plans, Jade is a vampire hunter who's also a vampire, and leon's also a vampire hunter (gotta earn money somehow)
  • Leon dies from an attack (also etcher? is there and she strikes a deal with jade)
  • Anyways Jade works with the police force, and she has a sort of 'handler' cause no one really trusts vampires, so she's under a lot of scrutiny at all times
  • She made a deal with etcher to find all spawned vampires and bring them to her mansion, and also etcher lowkeys threatens jade's supervisors to let her do that
  • That's the backstory, anyways, Etcher finds the newly turned Scarlett, lets her acclimate to her condition for a bit before bringing her to etcher
  • (But scarlett's actually a turned vampire, but her head was crushed at death so it regrew into 'spawned' vampire features)
  • Stuff happens, Jade sends her off, and she's alone again
  • She actually visits Leon's grave biweekly and talks to him about stuff (something something she knows leon would've died eventually but she thought she'd have more time with him, angst etc etc)
  • Anyways Scarlett comes back, after the chaos she has wrought, and chills with Jade (i havent written this part out too much yet so shenanigans happen and that's all i can say about it for now)
  • bout 1000 years later, modern world, vampires (and other supernatural creatures) are accepted into society now, due to the laws passed, there are less and less turned vampires.
  • Etcher's running a company, she's still '''''''friends''''''' with jade ig, sort of :/ with scarlett
  • Jade still visits Leon's grave, the graveyard's already been grown over and the village doesn't exist anymore, but Jade still keeps his grave clean
  • One day (or night i guess) Leon rises from the dead as a 'spawned' vampire
  • so turns out. Spawned vampires come from long dead corpses.
  • Jade's lucky enough to catch Leon while he's doing the whole 'rise from the dead' schtick and brings him to her home
  • Freshly spawned vampires take a lot longer to acclimate than turned ones, and he stays restrained in her appartment for a while while jade calls etcher and asks for help (cause etcher sort of has jurisdiction over dealing with vampires)
  • Leon doesn't remember his past life at all, much to Jade's chagrin.
  • stuff happens. i havent written it yet
Lawyer (Ace Attorney)
  • Jade is a lawyer under the payroll of Scarlett's mob boss dad (uh, for the sake of ease i'll just call him mr lee), and she's in charge of getting his men off the hook
  • as a lawyer, she's very calm and collected, taking time to think out her arguements in advance. she also meets with mr lee a lot to 'discuss' the proceedings of the trial (basically jade pointedly suggests what could have happened with what evidence, and mr lee prepares it for her. the whole time she can just feign ignorance because she 'just works with what she's given'
  • scarlett has a lot more beef with her due to the aforementioned dad thing
  • (well they do eventually warm up to each other as scarlett learns about her situation, but it does take longer)
  • also she gets the hair tuft haircut when she visits scarlett while the latter is angrily chucking knives into a targetboard. which she hangs on the door of her office. yeah she moved that after accidentally nicking jade
  • leon is working alongside her, also trying to earn his law degree, and jade privately hopes that leon is able to actually go a more legal path than she does
  • so the event (tm) mr lee gets murdered when jade was scheduled to meet with him. upon stepping into the office, she's attacked by someone, and falling to the ground, she manages to find a gun and shoot, before being knocked out.
  • so she doesn't know who she shot, that her boss was dead, but is arrested on suspicion of killing him. And the rest of the mob under mr lee have left her high and dry, assuming she was the one that killed him. and she's not sure herself who she shot at, so she's not really sure if she actually killed him
  • (fascinating writing jade not being remotely near a position of power for once)
  • so yeah, leon, a newly minted lawyer, decides to help her, and refuses to take no for an answer. and scarlett helps out too
AU hop
  • not really but sort of an au. mostly for fun (i mean the aus are already for fun but this is more for fun for fun)
  • for whatever reason, etcher asks jade to help her with her new invention, a dimension hopper, which runs on a significant amount of magical energy and etcher didn't have enough
  • (they also have a cordial relationship with each other. for some reason.)
  • just a funny little episodic thing, jade accidentally gets chucked into one of the aforementioned aus above and gets to interact with the other versions of herself
  • the machine also locks onto jade's signature so everytime it runs there's a significant risk of jade being whisked away. it's happened 4 times so far (reverse, lawyer, ghost, and vampire (etcher came along that time too))
  • oh yeah also the way her magic works is that it's not created from the body, it's manipulated from the environment, so anytime she enters a world that isn't just her own but slightly different (like lawyer or vampire) she's completely magicless
  • yippee i've added 2! new episodes! lol. a mini one where lawyer scarlett gets pulled into the main universe and then the one where they accidentally lose scarlett in the swap au and jade has to go pick her up
  • for something so silly i'm writing this really seriously for some reason. there's angst.
  • edit. it's i guess a slight au now? so like. the event that kickstarts the story doesn't happen here, instead etcher copes better with grief and dives into just researching magic for fun now
  • her funky dimension hopping machine doesn't go well with the investors and also it's bordering on illegality so etcher eventually calls in jade to help her with it (they're acquainted its fine)
  • and thats how jade finds herself as an unofficial dimension hopper. etcher joins sometimes. scarlett also joins sometimes
  • (at some point etcher manages condense the machine into a. book shaped. object.)
  • (also when jade finally tells scarlett about her experience in the ghost au and they get past the heavy feelings scarlett tries to convince jade to let her travel to the ghost au. she just thinks it would be funny)
Swap
  • every new au i make adds a new eyebag under jades eyes
  • so anyway, this is basically jade and scarlett swap roles au
  • while growing up under Lee, jade and leon notices that his daughter is suddenly being awfully compliant with him.
  • Although jade is still trying to work towards taking over the gang, scarlett beats her to it after she kills her father, and seeing that she's killing the men loyal to Lee, she reckons she'd be the next on the chopping block and gets out.
  • (She's still very much vying for the position of leader at this point)
  • So she moves halfway across the midlands and settles down, finding work at a circus
  • Time passes, she manages to gain ownership, and she's also established a little informational network, where she buys and sells information, and it still has connections to the underworld since she could never quite leave it entirely
  • (she's also been in contact with leon all this time, just to catch up with each other and ask about what's going on with the gang (literally), but has been hiding the whole information network thing from him)
  • a whole business happens where etcher tries to kill her, so she's got to deal with that too, and she's having a lot of trouble with that since most of the people at the circus are more civilians than anything else.
  • Specifics of that event is, a couple of her colleagues get arrested for some false charges. Jade attempts to pull some of her own strings to get them out, but the processing of their arrest and trial go unnaturally quickly, and she's unable to get them out before they are executed.
  • And Jade, learning that, falls into despair, realising she's up against someone with a lot more power and influence than her.
  • She struggles for a bit deciding what to do with her crew, and finally and begrudgingly decides to ask Leon for help. Unfortunately, asking Leon also means dragging Scarlett along.
  • They meet, Scarlett challenges her to a duel (and if jade dies, well, she was simply too weak)
  • they fight, and it ends.... in a sort of stalemate. Jade gets pinned to the wall but manages to get a hit in, breaking some ribs and puncturing scarlett's lung, but scarlett manages to throw a last stab in and gives jade a new cut on her forehead. and hair. but finally collapses and admits defeat.
  • Finally, after some discussion and threats thrown around, they agree to work together through an uneasy truce.
  • -----
  • Personality-wise, since jade doesn't have a position of power to defend, and also she's a lot more chill, she doesn't resort name calling around someone she hates (usually just scarlett). She just bites her tongue and tries to get through the conversation unscathed. But by god there are so many times she'd love to just let loose on scarlett.
  • (when their relationship starts getting closer though, Jade begins to talk back to her, just casually insulting Scarlett. Scarlett thinks it's delightful)
  • Her social skills are worse here. They were pretty bad to begin with, and it's not like she needed to further develop them. As a result, she's quiet, withdrawn, and likes to show affection more through her actions.
  • She's quite short with her words, and blunt, but cares deeply about the people she works with
  • Jade thought that she had left her past life and her past ambitions behind, having formed a somewhat peaceful life. With the sudden threat and the reappearance of Scarlett though, a part of her has started wondering about the 'what-ifs' had she stayed and attempted to achieve her goals.
  • She's somewhat resentful of Scarlett. Not that she thinks Scarlett isn't capable, but she wonders how easy it would be to have if she had that kind of power and influence.
  • ---
  • Jade's scar is a little more prominent here. Scarlett's knife cut reaaally deep
  • Her powers are weaker too. She still uses her magic to see, but she can't 'see' too much detail, just broad shapes. She also doesn't use it 24/7 either, instead relying on her cane or echolocation to navigate.
  • That being said, she's still very good compared to other magic users.
Horror AU
  • not the best descriptor but the best i could come up with
  • Jade is a hitman sent to kill  scarlett, and she stays/gets stuck at scarlett's cabin in the woods as she tries to come up with more and more ludicrous ways to kill her.
  • Jade's personality in this au is the same as her canon counterpart, with  her worst qualities turned up to eleven. At first, it was just another  job, but as time passed, it became personal. She'd sacrifice anything  just to get one stab in on Scarlett.
  • as a hitman, her M.O. is to play up her blindness a bunch to seem harmless, then sticking her targets with poison when they're in a secluded area. She always plans out her hits in meticulous detail to make sure nothing goes wrong
  • This all goes out the window the moment she meets Scarlett, who is aware of her work and methods, and immediately recognises her
  • Most of their relationship afterwards is just Jade plotting and Scarlett taunting her for her failed attempts.
  • Jade's not entirely too happy with this arrangement. Or maybe she is. There's a certain thrill to it, never being too sure if Scarlett's blade will truly turn on her one day.
  • other than that though, the relationship is surprisingly... respectful? in some regards. there are a few topics neither of them will touch (scarlett's father and threats to jade's brother), it'd make the death too cheap
  • the downtimes are nice.
  • later on, Jade eventually gets rescued by Leon, and manages to get back some semblance of a normal life and ending her life of bloodshed
  • Jade hears of Scarlett's execution, and outwardly gives a sigh of relief, but part of her is conflicted
  • Until Scarlett pops back into her life one day
  • yeah i guess they still like each other romantically, but in the weird, obsessive fucked up kind of way. they're kinda toxic. lmao.
  • ---
  • Scarlett's got her wrapped up so tightly around her little finger that she isn't even aware of it.
  • Jade got her tuft(tm) after Scarlett chucked an axe at her head. She was already getting under Scarlett's skin that day, but accidentally touched on her dad, which made Scarlett snap.
  • She was never really a verbose person to begin with, but Jade picked up a lot from Scarlett. Or, at least, she picked up the insult slinging. Scarlett was delighted to hear her talk back, but to be honest, Jade finds the talking exhausting
  • Perhaps both of them are too caught up in their game of cat and mouse, but Jade hesitates to think about what would happen if she actually succeeded
  • (she sometimes entertains the logistics though. how's she even going to get out? the nearest town is an hour's drive away and obviously she is not getting behind that wheel. her phone isn't getting great reception either)
  • ---
  • yeah. sorry
  • post forest, of jade finally getting away from the isolated cabin in the woods and reintegrating herself back into society
  • Her slate's been wiped suspiciously clean, with no mention her past as a hitman, and Leon won't tell her anything either. He's just happy she's back.
  • The news reports of Scarlett's execution, and Jade notes the use of her old chinese name. Outwardly, she is relieved, as she spends the next few days obsessively searching the name, reading every news article she could find.
  • It always feels like something is missing, but Jade simply moves on with her life
  • It is somewhat jarring though. She's spent the last 8 months focusing her energy towards trying to kill, and all of a sudden, her target is gone. dead. taken away from her before she could actually do anything.
  • As a person, Jade is... better? She's reintegrating herself, finding a normal job, living a normal life without the worry of her life being on the line
  • But she's out one day and a familiar voice calls to her. And their relationship begins again, in a different setting, with a different set of rules
  • Somehow, her relationship with Scarlett is worse.
  • They go out on 'dates', walk around town, have tea, hang out, maybe stay the night at scarlett's if she's able to
  • It's all tame and cute and chaste, but Jade wants nothing more than to cling onto her. there's so many things she wants to do to Scarlett, with Scarlett, but she can't sully her slate with blood again.
  • So all she does is be normal. act like everything's normal. squeeze her hand like a teenager on her first date, talk about the weather and the food and feel the peck Scarlett gives her on her cheek as she laughs warmly.
  • normal's such a stupid word to use, isn't it.
  • Regarding their current relationship, Jade wouldn't call themselves partners. She loves her so desperately and thinks it's fucked up, and that proper love isn't like that. Proper love isn't her disgustingly painful obsession to someone, isn't her heart aching so deeply every time Scarlett says goodbye, isn't the way the butterflies in her stomach flutter so wildly everytime she hears the lilt of her voice. So she hesistates to call her and Scarlett romantic partners
