SUMMARY

My main IHopeSona. A cave lion ancestor of Hopeful, Sweetorange was born and raised in one of the first lion prides, which was run by some of the first devout followers of the Traveller. After her mother died when she was a young cub, Sweetorange struggled to put down any roots anywhere in the pride. It also did not help that her childhood bully, Allspice, eventually rose to be the Knight and her Queen, Bleedingheart, was hardly any more sympathetic. In fact, it would become abundantly clear that she viewed the lonely, introverted Sweetorange as a burden to be dealt with.

Getting wind that she was to be a sacrifice to the Traveller, Sweetorange understandably made herself scarce. Her only friend and the pride's most trusted sentry, Corpseflower, aided in her escape by feeding her fellow sentries useless directions. Unfortunately, she is soon forced to confess when her cousin, Hyssop, is selected to be a sacrifice instead. Becoming aware that she is being hunted down by Allspice and her Squire, Snapdragon, Sweetorange continues to flee to the Endless Water, hoping to seek shelter on a peninsula of islands not far from the coast.

She is autistic, often jumping from various hyperfixations to the next - her current one being storytelling - as well as having schizophrenia. She is also uncoordinated (i.e. prone to hurting herself) and has sensory issues related to a developmental disorder. Despite all that she has been through, Sweetorange shares her descendant's optimism and gentle nature. However, she can be quite the snarker and demonstrates very little tolerance for her unfair treatment at the hands of her pride. Even while contending with the slight issue that is being chased by Allspice and Snapdragon, she is ultimately glad to be "free" and rid of her pride.
