One of the oldest of a very large family of farmers. Surrounded by younger brothers, sisters, cousins, he was needed to help raise some of the others, from telling funny stories to distract a younger sister while he mended a boo-boo, to convincing a baby brother he really does want to eat those greens, to playing a lullaby to put the lot of them to sleep at night. He became very captivated by a bard that traveled trough asking for a place to rest for the night and spontaneously decided to follow her to become one himself. She quickly ditched him, not wanting an apprentice. He was quite hurt by that and has been a bit leary of beautiful, charming women since.
Can read people pretty well, often comparing the personality of everyone he meets with a member of his family. Treats everyone with a level of familiarity. Doesn't know much of the ways of the world, not spending much time away from the farm before. Having had to act like the one with all the answers at home, doesn't always think to ask questions and blunders in.
