summary
A tank-born clone, retrieved from the destroyed Pyrrhus facility on Vacuna.
Before the Third Committee's control over their region forced their dissolution, the now-defunct Pyrrhus Co. was on record as a partner of the Smith-Shimano Corporation, and produced experimental neural implants for use in combat environments. They assisted in the R&D of many of SSC's mil-spec products, particularly in the advancement of their tactical simulation AI.
Privately, Pyrrhus Co. was deeply involved in the black-market for designer cloning. They were commissioned by Smith-Shimano to produce a run of genetically enhanced soldiers whose wetware could be integrated with the new V.3 Precognitive AI. They produced dozens of batches of clones, almost all of which went to waste due to their bodies rejecting the version three neural interfacing. After an incident on Vacuna left the cloning facility nonviable, the unfinished batches were seized by Smith-Shimano.
All clones seized by SSC were found to be psychologically unstable and unfit for combat, with the exception of fourteen individuals. Those exceptional few who survived formed a tight-knit and secretive Lancer squad which was contracted to SSC - Somnia.
Kallen-N9 (COMET) was one member of that Lancer squadron. Most records concerning his activities as an active duty member of Somnia are concealed within SSC's closed books, however, available records indicate that N9 was limited to a supportive role due to frequently receiving disciplinary action.
Declassified combat records indicate a penchant for anti-authoritative behavior and non-cooperation. This unusual psychological profile may be a side effect of his version three augmentations, or perhaps symptoms of cognitive dissonance between his genetic material and the implanted persona grafted to him by Pyrrhus.
N9 was discharged from service after committing a severe disciplinary infraction during his final outing with Somnia. He was held in a remote SSC facility for over a year, where he waited for the day he would be cleared of his charges in accordance with the Union laws which enforced his right to personhood.
He was eventually permitted to leave SSC custody, after which he all but disappeared from public channels.
In the years following, he seemingly went off the grid. However, his pilot's license has recently been reactivated, authorized under a new contract.
