- Kai has both a severe fear of thunderstorms and of spiders. He hates both of them even if he doesn't let others know about it.
- Kai's bones are extremely brittle. This helps him to fly easier, but it also means they can be very easily broken.
- In the underworld there wasn't much to eat except for meat from beasts that lived there. It tasted awful, though, and he likely won't be able to go back after eating food from the surface...
- He prefers stuffed animals to plushies of humans since... he also prefers animals to most humans.
Kaiya is a mostly quiet person who prefers to keep to himself and not bother with interacting with others (unless necessary). He rarely smiles and usually has a scowl on his face which makes him look scary and angry almost all the time... even if it's not the case. He doesn't particularly dislike people, but he also doesn't like them either. That said, he has a lot of surprising things that he enjoys.
Kaiya highly values freedom and his ability to do whatever he wants without being held down. His ability to fly is very important to him for this reason, because his wings are a symbol of freedom to him. Having been in the underworld for most of his life he also has a fondness for animals (cats especially) and nature which never existed so deep underground.
Kaiya wasn't so much 'born' as he was created by the goddess of the underworld Giza. Tired of her unfair confinement and feeling lonely she created her own version of an angel. However because only her sister, Celestia, had the free reign and ability to create true angels Giza would have to substitue and created Kaiya; a half-demon half-angel. Giza greatly cared for Kaiya during much of his young life, but at some point Giza (and all other gods and godesses) began getting sick. This sickness wasn't like a human ailment, but instead affected their very ability to reason and altered their personalities. Some hid it better than others, but many changes went on in the underworld.
Giza's desire for revenge at her unfair treatment became amplified under this sickness. As a result she sealed away all of Kaiya's positive emotions leaving only negative instincts that would help a weapon (anger, hatred, annoyance, ect). From then on he could no longer feel guilt or sadness from hurting others. However, his emotions were not completely gone, and anytime they would try to resurface an intesne headache would follow. During this time Kaiya was also sent to train and work for Seger who, unbeknownst to Giza, was more of a monster than any other creature in the underworld. His "training" regiments were cruel resulting in Kaiya sustaining multiple injuries. With all of this, Kaiya's annoyance and desire to leave the underworld gradually built up.
As soon as the opportunity presented itself Kaiya decided to take the opportunity to leave the Underworld. He'd only briefly visited the surface world before, usually for training, but he had never gone far from the entrance to the underworld. He didn't know if it was for curiosities sake or because he still had lingering feelings for his mother, but Kaiya wanted to figure out what the reason behind the gods and goddesses madness could be. Of course, to do so even he knew he'd need help to navigate the foreign world. So, his first stop would be the capital city of Celestia's domain.
The only person Kaiya will even admit to liking. Although a seemingly unlikely pair they're basically inseperable and Kaiya finds his presence calming. Also he's really good at making food.
Being opposites in a lot of ways Kaiya and Azari didn't get along at first. Once Azari began to see past her naiveness, she better understood Kai an the two slowly began to become friends.
No one knows how dangerous and malicious Seger is better than Kaiya. The two often worked together as underworld soldiers, but even then Kaiya never liked him and the feeling has always been mutual.
