Profile

19 years old, covers deep emotional trauma with sarcasm and cynicism. As a child Clue was left on the streets to fend for himself, spending almost 10 years of his life begging for scraps and avoiding orphanages for fear they might discover his strange ability to teleport through space using wind and breath (the tattoo he got on his shoulder when he was 16 is the kanji for breath). Around age 9 he was attacked by a gang of kids and barely escaped using his abilities, but was taken notice of by the leader of the gang. He was offered a place among their ranks, employed to fight and kill in exchange for a warm bed and food. He spent five years among them, rising easily in the ranks until he was practically the leader’s subordinate, but he still suffered a large amount of abuse during his early years, and was mentally manipulated (without realizing) by the leader into doing terrible things. Occasionally the leader even took advantage of his obedience, of which Clue still has nightmares. After five years had passed Clue was sent to take down a local serial killer that had murdered a few of their own. The serial killer turned out to be Pan, who had abilities just like Clue and, unable to bring himself to kill the boy, Clue returned from a failed mission. Because of this he was subdued and tortured for days by the leader himself before being cruelly abandoned and left to die, breaking his resolve and his ability to trust. He was rescued and nursed back to health by Pan and made a pact with the boy that they would never lie to each other, and they would do anything to protect each other. Since then they struggled on the streets together and managed to rent the unused basement of a bar as their home. Clue slowly recovered from his experiences with Pan’s help, and developed into a much more cheerful personality despite having a deep-rooted pessimism towards the majority of humanity. He still relapses into his old ways now and then, though, and his only sanity is having Pan by his side so he knows he isn’t alone
