- A doctor with the desert in his bones. He's always meant to pick up the family business, but something slipped when Hawks came into town with the Accipiter; he's in too deep now to see the daylight.
- It's been a long time since he's been an optimist. Grieving the loss of his daughter. The town's full of the empty places she used to fill. He gave his ex-wife everything when she left, not because he's a good man but because it was all ghosts, anyway.
