Background : Andrew became a military at a young age. He served as a soldier for several years, until he eventually joined the program. He met Daniel Sherman ( #623's original name ) pre-treatment, and both men agreed for Andrew to become #623's future handler. Even if Grasshopper probably doesn't remember their agreement, having Andrew at his side during his transformation was enough for him to form a bound with the young man.
