Speedy

Easily distracted and often a little unpredictable, Speedy is an upbeat and friendly bundle of fur. They're not the most intellectual of sapients, but you'd be hard pressed to find a being they couldn't win over with their silly antics and bizarre charm. They lack tact and subtlety, and can often be deemed inappropriate at times due to their lack of boundaries, but it's simple naivety rather than malicious intent. If theyre made aware, theyll gladly fix their mistakes if possible. Though known throughout their circles for not being the sharpest tack in the box, Spud does occasionally show moments of strong lucidity and focus. Keeping this up for long periods of time appears to take it out of them, however, and is at best used sparingly, if at all. Whilst they're not all there in the head most of the time, Speedy has a heart of gold and will do anything they can to cheer up a sad friend, help the injured or even just ease a burden for someone else. They're surprisingly strong for their small size, and are happy to assist with physical labour and tasks. They'll also offer to help with other, more complex tasks, with occasional success; results may vary, however!

As a runite, Speedy has access to a host of magical abilities and powers. These include limited shapeshifting, small bursts of energy, teleporting, alteration spells and healing abilities. Their grasp on these skills is more instinctual than learned, however, and their use is often highly unintentional. Strong emotional states can cause involuntary effects on themselves or those around Spud, which are often things they are not able to undo until they calm down. A common example is that Spud can, if pushed to a highly enraged, upset, frightened or excited state, transform into a hulking monstrocity 8 times their original size. In this form, they become immensely strong, fast and durable, with other traits such as their paralytic venom and energy bursts becoming much more potent to match. Their mind reverts to a more feral state, with limited processing of speech, and little to no ability to talk themselves. Though intimidating, this state can be incredibly cuddly and loving; this is often to the point of refusing to let go of their friends, enforcing cuddle time until they turn back to normal size.
