Api is a young member of a proud species, who are typically a species of honesty and have been commonly associated with royalty in the ancient past. If a King or Queen has foo dog protecting their kingdom, its a sign of reliably and a ruler that is trustworthy, Whole families of foo will spend generations defending a location of great significance or a royal family. If any kind of breakdown of this ancient contract between this honourable species and what they have been protecting for decades, that clan had been betrayed in a great way. So sadly in history it has been written in some scriptures that the foo are pretty much unreliable and are backstabbers, snaking their way into positions that puts them a stones throw away from rulers of power to cut them down.

Sadly this stigma carried to modern day in some small countries and the Foo were even eradicate in some remote parts of the world. Any loss of a family clan is a massive hit to the population as a whole as they tend to mate for life and pairings commonly produce one young, very rarely 2. They will dedicate their lives to raising their children, teaching them everything that has been passed down through the generations from history to traditions and cultures.

As this species is extremely long lived, each family bloodline has their own history in great detail, watching the rise and falls of many great civilizations. Sadly as society progressed including the improvement of technology in terms of security and changes in how leadership is ran, the Foo are losing their purpose. Over time families started to spread out as concentrated numbers were no longer needed thus making this already uncommon species more rare and in the modern day the species was eventually declared endangered by the government.

Since that declaration every single foo is considered protected and their medical needs basically covered by the system, losing the foo is losing an important part of history and potentially first hand accounts of events that shaped the world.

Api is the definition of a gentle giant, he is pretty easy going and loves to socialize, meeting new people from different cultures and places always gets his curiosity as he has a fascination with anything that is outside of his norm. Its because of this curious nature he started working in a museum, looking back at history and finding interesting little snippets that he didnt know before. When hes not in the back archiving information and updating files, hes out giving tour guides, teaching others about history and even making the occasional side comment about historical figures that his own family knew. (his grandfather is a wealth of information). After the museum is closed to the public its common to see him going over the exhibits making sure everything is in perfect order, his protective nature keeps him diligent with his tours and keeping his groups together and making sure noone gets left behind satisfy that instinct of protecting something.

Apart from his curious nature he is really sensitive, he tends to steer clear of the taxidermy as he finds it somewhat upsetting, hes honestly that kind of soul that would be a sobbing mess at the end of titanic. He is really empathic to others needs but this sensitivity comes with its own anxieties.

He currently has residence with Pyros! The pair of them own a home together basically! Its common to find Api on his days off in the sun reading a thick novel or in the cat room/Kitten Nursey taking care of his current foster kittens

Out of the pair of them, Api does a large portion of the cooking, as much as he loves Pyros, the spicy foo has the habit of burning and adding chilli to whatever touches his paws, yes it tastes good everytime, much to Api's heartburn the next day. Api is also really guilty of cooking desserts, he cant help himself when it comes to sweet treats.

Lowkey Api wishes they had a place with a bigger backyard to start up a greenhouse and a whole herb garden, but hes fully aware he doesnt have enough spoons for another hobby to enter his life.

Like his workplace, he is very diligent with his personal spaces, he can tell if someone has been in his space and will look around if anything has changed

Api was born into a family on the smaller side, no siblings and his parents were on the younger side when they settled down and decided to start a family. His parents are pretty relaxed in the way they raised him though sadly his grandparents are on the more traditional side, leaning heavily into what is expected of their species and pressuring Api's parents and Api to get into jobs that leans into their nature (Body guard roles, police officers, military based jobs ect ect). His parents buckled to keep the peace while Api got the courage to go against the grain and follow his interests.

Childhood

Api was a quiet pup when growing up, the silent observer before getting into his school years when he started coming into his own and learning how to socialize outside of his family. He had a couple of close friends growing up

Adulthood

After High School Api tried to fit in with the expectations of his species and took on a bodyguard role in a government building, just to be more of a deterrent due to his height and size, he was pretty miserable in that job. He hates that others judge him based on that and give him a wide berth. Eventually he got together with his childhood friend Pyros, It took quite a bit to come to terms with his sexuality
