"You're a halfling and you're injured. Please, let me tend to your wounds."

Kind and open to conversations but only with halflings, Yezi generally stays quiet around other individuals given his childhood. As his parents provided a lot of care and nurturing to help Yezi become healthy, he too wishes to help others when they have been denied service. He will often do charity service for halflings, while anyone else that comes across him and needs help he will demand for some form of currency, request, or food.

When the full moon comes around, Yezi becomes anxious, for fear of standing out when he is in public places with people who are not aware of his other half. Because of this, he stays in for a few days before and after the full moon, as the strength of the moon varies per rising.

History

As a travelling doctor, he is required to revisit certain places in order to concoct his medicines and updates his own books, taking the lesser known routes around his country to avoid being seen by those who are not like him. Often times he will encounter a new village, which not only spikes his anxiety in fear of being caught, but also builds a reputation for himself whether he likes it or not. To whether this reputation is a good thing or bad... He never stays long enough to hear.

Outcast as a Halfling

Born to a sorcerer father and a werewolf mother, Yezi had a difficult upbringing. Halflings such as he had a weak constitution, and most halflings die within their first eight years of life. Determined to make him live to see his later days, his parents constantly looked for different types of medicines and exercises, often combining medicines together in hopes that it would help their child.

In their efforts of keeping their child strong, rumours started to go around the village where they stayed. Attempts and creations of illegal drugs to rumours of their child being a mutant reached the family's ears. It did not help either that his mother could not hide her "animalistic" features, so occasionally Yezi's mother would be approached by other village folk who asked to "not have any more children" if she was having that type of relationship with the husband or to "get rid of the child while you can" because caring for a halfling was incredibly difficult. As grueling as it was, his parents ignored the gossip, eventually coming across a set of medicines that would help Yezi grow older. His mother warned him to hide his ears and tail whenever he went out, especially near a full moon rising.

Even if he did go outside and listened to his mother's warnings, none of the other kids would interact with him. The gossip had reached their children, and were told that this boy was dangerous and "hiding something that would terrify the other kids".

He eventually grew a great dislike for those of "purebred", and told himself that they were selfish and only thought for their own kind, as opposed to helping anyone who came by and asked for help.

He vowed to himself that he wouldn't help "purebreds" unless he got something in return. There would be no hospitality without reward.

Helping Those Like Him

Compiling his parent's work into a continuously growing book, Yezi was set on helping others who were halflings. His parents' kindness on helping him survive today was only done by hard work, and he wanted to give back by helping others who were less fortunate. Ready to set off on his journey, he bid his parents farewell, occasionally coming back to visit with his new knowledge and trinkets he had found along the way.

Helping patients often meant constantly brewing new medicines and moving to foreign places. Faces that he had never seen before and wouldn't again, he slowly made his way through villages and towns, helping all those that he could. Denying any forms of cash or payment after helping a halfling, who often kept their identity as a secret, he slowly made a reputation among the poor and other halflings.

The Unknown Author

After accumulating a vast amount of knowledge, Yezi arrived at a not-for-profit publisher who provided resources for those who were unable to afford the more expensive books. Leaving a large manuscript, he hoped that this knowledge would help other halflings in the event that he was not there to support. Every so often, Yezi goes back to the same publisher to further update with his studies.

Trivia

Yezi's ears pop out during full moons, and he gets a great-but-controllable hunger for meat. When he is extremely stressed on the rare occassions that a full moon has risen, he will turn into a wolf. His iridescent fur (as a trait passed down by his father) gives him away as something different so he avoids meeting with people during this time at all possible costs.

He hates the fact that he grew up reflexively hiding them and hopes one day that halflings have no need to be ashamed of their heritage.

Style: For self defense and for him to make his way through the thick bamboo and coniferous forests, Yezi carries around a blade to help make his way through. As he often wears a thick cloak, usually no one ever sees this concealed blade. If Yezi is desperate to escape a troubling situation and has no access to his blade, he will use his medicine box to slam into individuals who come to close. As his magic only has healing properties thanks to his sorcerer lineage, he cannot use it in battle. He is otherwise swift on his feet and has an endurance to match.
