"If we're not careful, we'll disappear
But we're holding on waiting for fire to freeze
Waltzing in warfare, it's just you and me
Colors divide us my dear
I'm gonna kill you
So we can start new
But all of the reasons
I love you to death
Keep me holding your hand till you take your last breath"

"When they′re together, the world feels right
They dance alone in the pale moonlight
But when she's gone, he′s left behind
A tortured soul, with peace confined
He dreams of nights, the two as one
But wakes to find the light undone
His empty room, his solemn stare
He breathes her name into the air"
Raziels and Loveless storyline
Aeons ago, Raziel and Loveless were deeply bonded starsnares. But when Loveless was mortally wounded, Raziel was unwilling to let him go. Desperate and grief-stricken, Raziel carried his dying lover to the Tower up the mountain - a place where starsnares with dark stardust could get reborn.
But the ritual failed.
Loveless died and the magic warped. Time unraveled around them. The ritual, incomplete and unstable, didn't reincarnate Loveless immediately - instead, it scattered his essence across time and space. Years later, in a distant place, he finally woke up.. But he bore no memories of his past life, looked entirely different, and carried only the faintest fragments of who he used to be. The reincarnation had not been his choice; it had been forced upon him by Raziel’s grief.
Raziel, believing the ritual to have failed completely, returned to their shared home in the winter wastelands. He buried Loveless's broken body beneath the castle floor and stood guard over the place for decades, even centuries - his name and age forgotten, his mind becoming fractured and their home slowly turning into a ruin. He became a living ghost, a relic of an era long dead, fiercely protective of the grave and the memories that haunted it. Intruders are killed on sight and rumors run deep about the haunted ruins in the woods.
Eventually Loveless - now a wandering, hunted outcast with no knowledge of his past - came crashing back into Raziel's life, quite literally. Fleeing his pursuers through a blizzard-choked forest, Loveless was injured and slammed through the wall of Raziel's ruined castle, destroying a mural of the long-lost lover in the process. Buried under rubble, unconscious and bleeding, he went unnoticed at first.
Raziel, enraged by the destruction of the mural and the intrusion, annihilated Loveless’s pursuers without question. Only later, drawn back by a songbird's cry, did he notice a white, bloodied paw in the rubble - and discovered Loveless. The two had briefly met before in the past winter, but back then, neither of them had noticed any form of connection.
Now, things were different.
Though Loveless had no memory of their past, Raziel saw echoes of his old love in him. The white starsnare looked and moved just a little too much like the one he had lost. And though Loveless was frightened and confused, he was also tired of running - and quite hurt from his fall.
A fragile bond formed.
Raziel nursed Loveless back to health, his broken back wing replaced with a mechanical prosthetic, and they spent the winter together; Loveless trying to learn how to fly again and Raziel trying to learn how to be around someone else again. But alas; his sanity had cracked under the weight of time. Raziel began to confuse the past with the present, calling Loveless by his old name, becoming more and more possessive and obsessive - unable to accept that Loveless is his own person, and different now. Loveless couldn’t just pick up where they left, because his past life was still a mystery to him and there was still the devastating decision Raziel had made - forcing the rebirth onto him, that lingered between them.
Loveless, who was always an outcast due to the dark stardust surrounding him, longed for love but didn’t know how. His corrupted wish - the one that cursed his life - made it nearly impossible for others to truly accept him and it was difficult for him to connect with others. No matter how hard he tried, he always ended up alone, and being hated by the village; to the point where it made him suicidal and he debated more than once to just end his doomed existence.
.
So when Raziel’s love turned suffocating and controlling, Loveless stayed, unsure of whether he wanted to escape or be needed. He let himself be shackled. He reassured Raziel he wouldn’t leave - even as fear grew in his heart.
Eventually, though, the truth became impossible to ignore. They were no longer who they once were. Raziel’s refusal to move on, and Loveless’s fractured identity and need for freedom, clashed too deeply. What began as reunion became a tragedy; two broken beings tethered to a past that could no longer be reclaimed. They loved each other… but not enough to heal each other.
