Backstory

Early Life

Morphoshiver was born outside the clans alongside his siblings Icyheart and Bluehail. Soon after they were born, his mother Crocus was found by Spectralclan and taken in. He had a relatively normal kithood, although he never felt as close to the other kits than he did with his siblings. It was this isolation that fed into his natural curiosity, because when one has too much time on their paws, what's left to do but explore? He quickly learned the secret places he could slip away to in camp and adapted to life mostly on his own. By the time he was old enough to become an apprentice, he was already clever and adaptable, far more so than the rest of his clanmates his age.

Adolescence

After being apprenticed to ---------, Morphoshiver learned fast. The curiosity he had fostered as a kit came in handy, leading to him experimenting with techniques and finding better ways. This curiosity turned dark, however, when Morphoshiver found himself venturing deeper into the moonless forest he found himself dreaming of one night. TBC

Ghoststem has watched Morphoshiver carefully over the years, terrified that this may be the cat he prophecized so long ago.

Ever since he died, Ghoststem has been watching carefully for a cat to fulfill the prophecy of chaos and death that he saw in the butterflies. He had long believed that morpho butterflies meant death, every time one showed up he made a note of it, and almost every time someone got murdered within three moons. So when he saw a kitten named after his omen of death come into the clan, he was filled with fear. Many moons ago, he had been given a prophecy at the moonglade of a cat who would bring death to the clan. He had watched carefully, and when Morphoshiver murdered the deputy, he saw that, despite his best efforts to stop it, the prophecy cat had come.
