History

"The most peaceful world is one with no borders."

Was abducted by the MSF as a child in 1974. Khiêm lied about her family history during this time, making Boss believe she was a war orphan so he would adopt her, giving her shelter from her homophobic family. Khiêm took brief training under MSF, and yearned to do more during the Peace Walker Incident, but was sheltered due to her age. During this time, she developed a father-like admiration for Big Boss, even though she was treated the same as the other child soldiers hosted under MSF.

After the XOF Mother Base incident, Khiêm fled to the United States, and tried to live a normal life for a brief period. She took up being a personal athletic trainer, and had a brief bartending career in the 80s. She found this lifestyle to be unfulfilling and empty, and missed the feeling of being surrounded by "found family" that she got when housed in MSF. Spent the next 9 years hunting down Big Boss, joining Outer Heaven in 1991. Khiêm was deployed during the Zanzibar Land Disturbance, suffered severe physical injuries but nothing fatal. Due to her diligence and survival during the Zanzibar Land Disturbance, she was traded off to the Next Generation Special Forces. This was an extremely emotionally rocky period for her, since she was being torn from a family she took so long to find. Was re-deployed in the Genome Army after gene therapy, and died during the Shadow Moses Incident.

While IPTech was scooping up the corpses of Genome Soldiers, they came across her folders and were impressed by her physical abilities and tracking expertise. They used her as the first (and unfortunately, failed) experiment in reanimation prosthetic technology. Khiêm then lived as an angry, traumatized shell until 2012, when the outdated tech finally gave out and could no longer support her bodily functions. Eventually, she just shut down.

Personality

Usually takes the role of "Aloof Ally", doesn't like the concept of dividing people into factions. Although she's a soldier used in Big Boss's infinite war, she refuses to call herself a soldier of Outer Heaven. She will associate herself with Outer Heaven, but only referring to them as family. She hates what all of her factions stand for, but sticks to them due to her longing for a proper family. She tends to take on a big sister role, very caring and kind, but loves to bully and tease her comrades. She can be a bit of a hard-ass, but is loyal until the end, and would fight endlessly for the people she cares for.

Behind the Name

HELLCAT was an affectionate name given to her by Big Boss in the 90s, a simplification of the M18 HELLCAT anti-tank unit. This name was given to her to reflect her major fighting traits. The first being her strong, tank-like build, but surprising mobility in battle. The second trait was that she refused to use thick-padded armor. Despite multiple attempts by Big Boss to get her to properly suit up, she simply preferred lighter armor, or no armor at all.
