Despite it's thick and messy look, Rudy puts quite a bit of effort into self-maintenance. His fur is usually smooth and fluffy to the touch, his horns polished, and his teeth almost shining. He likes to wear expensive clothing, not for showing off to others (though it is a bit of that) but because he is actually very finicky about textures. His favourite leasure outfit is his fur-lined blue coat, with a velvet gown underneath. He also can be seen wearing satin dress shirts, formal vests, and a variety of nearly identical slim black slacks. On rare occasions he may bring out some gaudy patterned shirts that he adores, but about any one else would agree is hideous.

Rudy is the son of wealthy nobles, who only grew wealthier as his mothers brewery business Phoenix Ales boomed due to cut-throat business practises. His father, Darius Nestor, adored his son and was a major part of his childhood while his mother, Aleit Brauer was often away handling work (though she made up for it by showering them both in her love every moment she could). His fathers presence kept Rudy from becoming lonely, but living on a large and mostly devoid of life estate with no friends and his mother mostly at work left it's marks. His childhood dream quickly became to become a Master Brewer like his mother was and join the family business in hopes that his family would feel more 'whole'.

When Rudy turned five, he was enrolled in the best private school his father could find. Unfortunately, the private school was rife with bullies who attempted their best to prove their own and their families dominance, and Rudy's sweet nature was easily trampled on. He managed to tough it out until he was 8 years old, where the exclusion and the recent turn to physical bullying turned too much, and begged his father to home school him instead. Darius immediately agreed when he discovered his Rudy had been treated, horrified by the 'dog fight' nature the school had hidden. From then on Rudy was taught by a variety of trusted tutors, and within a couple years said school suffered a large loss due to a large scandal due to the principal embezzling money. Darius looked like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth when he claimed he had nothing to do with it.

Things went on as normal until Rudy was 17 and he went through an unexpected loss. A simple cold turned into pneumonia due to Darius's weak immune system, a result of his families minor inbreeding, and Darius passed away with little time for either Rudy or Aleit to mentally prepare. They were heavily shaken as the emotional cornerstone of their lives crumbled away. Rudy finally joined the family brewery to support his mother as well as give himself distraction, but his mother threw herself into work even more desperately and their relationship became stilted. Phoenix Ales when through another financial boom, but it made neither of them feel less empty. Rudy turned to parties and drinking as distractions, but that didn't work either.

As much as Rudy cared for Aleit, he felt far too alone for him to handle even in the midst of a crowd. He wanted- no, needed to leave. His mother was no longer the same woman who would spend every moment with her loved ones showing how much she cared for them, she was just a hollow shell who had long since passed with her husband. Rudy was selfish to leave her like this, but he couldn't handle watching her work herself to death. He couldn't let himself just fall with her either.

In the early dawn, just verging on his 22nd birthday, Rudy set out from the town he knew with as much of his inheritance as he dared carry with him. Travelling was a balm on his soul, even with the danger considering his only strengths was knowing how to use a dagger (kinda, it was totally like a knife right?) and being strong enough to lift a full keg. Even so, no place called at him to stay long until he discovered another town further to the west. The whole town was nothing more than burnt cinders, broken frames, and blackened stone, clearly abandoned for years. The small villages and settlements nearby told him stories of a crimson star in the sky and a great fire that destroyed overnight and left little surviving in it's wake. Some had set out to the call of mystery and adventure that the unknown cause of the fire sung, but Rudy saw a call of opportunity in the towns cinders.

Rudy saw the broken remains and wanted to make it whole again, and none complained about him buying the rights to the abandoned town. Right near the center of the town he bagan his first of many projects, hiring help from the remaining villages to make his vision come true. First to stand among the ash would be a quaint little tavern and inn, and his new home. He dubbed it the Phoenix's Nest.
