Iris

Backstory

Iris was born of a world that no longer was. Whose time had come to it's natural end like that of a star burning out to make room for more of the great expanding galaxies. But unlike those within her world, she had not gone out into that good night. She had escaped as just a young child for reasons unknown to her, and so unknown for all as no one else lives to tell the tale. 

Iris grew up in a home much like an orphanage, minus the adoption policies. She had never felt like she belonged there, that she wasn't the same as her peers and that she was never meant to be amongst them. She needed to collect the negative energy within people's very souls, casting them in a terrifying illusion of all their misdeeds of great and small. Her own caregiver had to act as a source for her to simply survive, and each time made her feel worse for herself than the last.

So when the day came she learned that she could pass though space and time to other world's where sometimes things were much the same and some were radically different. So full of people and some of them with so much negativity that she could use to sustain herself and in turn, she found that she could her this ability for not just selfish needs. Purifying souls of their negative energies and giving them a chance to start again, to feel and experience their lives.

She separated herself more often from her little home and her little family. Much to the displeasure of her boyfriend Else when she would come home damaged or after many days. As not everyone she met to purify were so kind. But she felt like she'd found herself a reason to be alive when before she had only existed because to die would have only caused in more deaths than her own.
