Jiya is a kind and caring boy, but his flaws lie in that. He's stubborn, and wants to take all of the problems of those around him onto himself, and doesn't want to allow them to help him. He has been getting better at accepting help and accepting himself since joining his family. He had an accident a few years back that caused him to almost completely lose his sight, but he manages still. He likes to be outside on sunny days.
