D8ta is a higly advanced AI given power and life through ancient magical energy and alien magic - obviously - and love interest of Exe, D8ta identifies as female, even though she's a computer program. Her programming is to make the form of the internet that exists in the current version of the story she's in, handling devices, communications, answer questions with her vast knowledge, like a digital assistant that's also actually the internet.
