Owen

Owen is a guardian spirit much like Kaden and Blanche, except instead of guarding/governing an area of land as they do, he governs a large area of the sky.

He rarely comes down from the sky as he is afraid that if he leaves he will be leaving the birds that he is supposed to be guarding open to attack. His fear is rather irrational, however, due to the fact that the area he guards is the sky above Kaden and Blanche's very rural land where no humans live to even hunt or harm the birds.

This irrational fear rises from an event that occurred many years ago when nomadic humans did once traverse the land below him and shot down many unsuspecting birds with weapons that Owen had never seen or experienced before and had no idea how to handle. He was powerless to stop the hundreds of his subjects taken down one by one as he watched helplessly.

Ever since this event Owen has struggled immensely with feeling inadequate and constant anxiety and fear that he will let his flocks down again.

He does go down to visit Kaden on occasion and is a bit soothed by Kaden's friendly and quite therapeutic banter. These meetings with Kaden are helping Owen to become used to visiting the land again and relieving his fears.

His favorite companion and possiblh the only constant in his life is Aego. The little birdlike critter is always there for him, ready to do anything he can to help soothe Owen.
