Profile
Kieran was born in Criegcluain, a port town at the far end of Floyra with an avid ranching culture. He had a relatively carefree childhood, raised by loving parents that let him run freely so long as he did his chores. He spent his early years herding sheep, spending time with his best friend Shae, and training his loyal sheepdog Tavish.
At 18, one of the sheep from his flock, Gréine, wandered off at sunset. Kieran ventured off into the woods to find her, unaware he was being lured by something sinister. He was hunted by The Wolf, the god of destruction, running in the darkness for what felt like hours. When he finally fell, he'd tripped over Gréine's corpse. He'd gotten no closer to the edge of the forest, and the Wolf bore down on him. The Wolf tore him in half, devouring his lower half and leaving him to bleed out slowly.
Daire's familiar Ulchabhán alerted them, and they hurried out Tome in hand to resurrect him. Daire performed three forbidden rituals to save his life.
1) Inexpugnabilis - The livestock bell that Gréine once wore was made indestructible
2) Transcendere - Kieran's soul was sealed inside the bell, plucked from a quickly dying body.
3) Reformatio - Using what remained of Gréine, Daire reconstructed Kieran's lower body.
Because of this, Kieran is no longer fully bovid, he is a demi-lich. A soul possessing a body. The bell is hung around his neck with a chord made from his own skin. If it is ever removed, Kieran will die until it is returned. Despite this, he cannot truly die. The bell that holds his soul cannot be destroyed (though he's tried) and his body can survive any injury and slowly reform over time. He can also cast certain magic without a spell. He has a shadowy black hand made out of pure Volition that he can change the size and shape of at will. It is very effective at crushing people's heads. He can also absorb life force from other living creatures, healing and strengthening himself through necromancy. This affinity for necromancy is because of The Wolf, who imbued Kieran with his blessing to prolong his suffering after the kill. Because he lived, he now bears this power he did not want.
