A brooding young man who is trying to find his place in the world, Riley's personality seems to change depending on who he's with. Most people know him for the charming persona he usually puts across in order to lure people into a false sense of security. As good as he is at convincing people otherwise, Riley is very apathetic and doesn't seem to have a moral compass. He gets a kick out of manipulating people, Riley holding the belief that people are tools to be used for his own selfish needs.

The truth is that Riley is actually a lost and insecure person, but he doesn't let anyone see that since he views it as a weakness. He doesn't like losing control of himself so will literally go to the ends of the Earth to make people believe that he's absolutely fine. Riley isn't as collected and powerful as he likes to make himself seem.

Riley is tall and slender with skin that tans easily in the sun. He has long limbs and lean muscles which are packed tightly together. Straight lines and square corners accent his good physique and enhance his appearance as a leader. He has medium brown hair which is cut a little shorter at the sides, the top textured with the use of hair products. His eyes are golden in colour, golden eyes seeming to be a trademark Kirkwood feature. He has brown brows to match his hair, though his left one appears to be split in half due to the scar that runs down his left eye. He usually has a cold and brooding look on his face but on the rare occasion where he does smile, he has a charming and slightly crooked one, people often telling him that he should smile more.

Wardrobe

If Riley's wardrobe could be described in one word it would be "monochrome." Riley looks good in black clothes and never seems to give anything else a try. He feels at his most confident when dressed in blacks, greys, and whites. He typically wears fitted formal shirts, skinny formal trousers and a pair of black derby shoes, chukka boots, or chelsea boots. If the weather is cold he usually wears a black formal coat over his outfit. When on his motorcycle Riley is always clad in tight black leather. He occasionally likes wearing tight leather pants as part of his casual outfit too.

In regards to accessories, Riley wears a gold casio digital watch on his right wrist. He always has a pair of black and silver rosary beads on his person. They are usually worn around his neck and under his shirt but he has been seen with them wrapped around his left wrist every now and again. They seem to be very special to him and never leaves the house without them.

Cologne scent: Italian mandarin, crystalline accord, cedar, almond tonka, white musk.

Born in Scotland but raised in Aydendale, Riley is the middle child of James and Lena Kirkwood. Having a doctor who is constantly high in demand for a father and a highly ranked lawyer as a mother certainly had its perks as it meant that Riley and his siblings grew up with everything and anything money could buy. While the Kirkwood family had their own set of obstacles, money was not one of them. In fact, Riley's life was pretty smooth sailing until he reached the age of 17. That's when everything took a dramatic turn for the worse.

Riley's best friend Lucas was gifted with a brand new car on his 18th birthday and decided to throw a house party later on that evening. Lots of people showed up, everyone was having fun, and Riley even grew close to a girl who went to school with them. A few hours and a few drinks later, Lucas decided to show off his new car by taking Riley for a spin. They were both too drunk to realise that what they were doing was wrong, Lucas' head buzzing with alcohol and the excitement of owning his dream car. They tore through the night, the two boys getting a thrill from seeing how fast the car could go, music blaring in their ears. It was when Lucas tried to make a swift turn around a corner when the car flew off of the road and down a cliff, the car nothing but a wreckage of scrap metal by the time it hit the ground.

Lucas was pronounced dead at the scene, and Riley was alive but unconscious. He was rushed to hospital and kept in the intensive care unit where he spent the next few months in a coma. When he woke up, he had no memory of where he was, who he was, and what happened. The next few years of his life was spent trying to collect the sense of self he had before the crash, Riley diagnosed with amnesia as a result of his accident. This has caused him to feel depressed. While he can create new memories, it is clear that he is incapable of recalling the memories he had before the crash and it constantly leaves him questioning who he was before he lost consciousness.

‣ Riley's main mode of transporation is his motorbike which is a black Kawasaki Z900RS.

‣ He studies English literature at University, Tennyson being his favourite poet.

‣ He's left handed.

‣ Riley is medicated for depression and some form of psychosis. He see's a therapist every Wednesday morning.

‣ He's bisexual with a strong preference for women. He has never dated someone of the same sex before.

‣ If he was in Hogwarts, he'd be in Slytherin with a wolf patronus.

‣ He doesn't like pop culture references since he rarely gets/understands them.

‣ Works in a local coffee shop during the summer to keep him busy.

‣ Music wise, his favourite artists are: Joy Division, The Arctic Monkeys, and Dermot Kennedy.

‣ He's actually short sighted and has glasses but he never wears them because he doesn't think he suits them.

‣ His favourite food is steak and likes it rare. He won't eat anything above medium rare.
