Some name and personality suggestions for you~!
I like that this horse has very pretty hair and magical starry glowy spots but then from the knees down it's suddenly darker with muddy stripes. It feels symbolic, like this is a mythical horse who waded through knee-high sludge for some purpose and was forever marked by the experience. A celestial being came down from the stars and walked in the mud. I suggest the name 'Astraya.' Astraea is a Greek goddess of purity but one of the last to live amongst mortals before fleeing when humans became wicked. I spelled it a little differently because I was also thinking of Atreyu, a protagonist in the book (and movie) The NeverEnding Story, who had a horse, and they had to get through a swamp, and unfortunately the horse didn't make it.
That all seems a little dark, so my personality suggestion is to go a little more light hearted. A horse of magical, possibly holy nature, who prefers to live on the mortal plane because it's fun and interesting. If you are traveling alone this horse might approach you in the night, like some kind of spiritual omen. But then they walk up gently and let you ride them. You travel along, wondering if your new companion is whisking you away to another world, or to death, but then the horse stops, and lets you off, and nothing bad or magickal has happened. They let out some weird laughing horse noises and then disappear as oddly as they arrived. An apple is missing from your travel supplies.
