Wither is an old being brought into creation during 13th century Europe's gothic renaissaince. She was originally created alongside three other identical gargoyles to be perched atop the corner ledges of a grand church built somewhere in France. Alas, the church was only given a few good years of use before falling victim to the ruination of war. Of the four commissioned gargoyles, only Wither survived, the others smashed into unrecognizable pieces and dust.

Freed from her duties of guarding the church, Wither struck out on her own. She made a deal with a local witch who blessed Wither with the ability to control when and where Wither turned to stone. No longer bound to the hours of the night, Wither decided to travel the world. She is often found around very old churches and cathedrals, or ancient historic sights.
