Quailflight is a pale grey tom with feathery soft fur, darker grey flecks, and a plumy tail.
He is very anxious and unsure of himself, finding it hard to adjust into clan life ever since he was an apprentice. His mentor, Pinebrush, saw his unease as weakness, and pushed Quailpaw harder than the rest of the other apprentices to make up for it.
Rainstar, who is also his mother, saw the harm Pinebrush was doing and switched his mentor to Silverwing, a much gentler she-cat who understood his discomfort of clan life. Silverwing took great strides to slowly get Quailpaw to where he was ready and how to cope with the anxiety Pinebrush helped create within him.
Quailflight ended up earning his warrior name almost a season later than his denmates, but has made progress since he was younger. He secretly struggles with wondering if being a loner, or even a kittypet would be easier than a clan cat.
