taken from their sister, Ru when they were just a child - Barayas was raised (term used loosely) by Gaedran Lamm - a vicious, cruel man who took to abusing Barayas whenever he saw fit. Most of the scars on Barayas are reminders of their struggle. Although always a little timid as a child, Barayas has grown into a steadfast, serious person who speaks rarely and when they do, it is with gravity as if each word is weighed carefully. Yet, despite the cruelty they had seen in their early years Barayas has grown into an optimistic, warm man. Still serious, still quiet but a person who is loyal to a city and it's people - in a way that Ru cannot understand. Having been freed from the abusive chains of Gaedran, Barayas has found themself a baker's apprentice, taking small delight in baking for their sister and her friends.

In many ways, Barayas is the opposite to their sister, Ru. Barayas is careful, cautious and quiet where as Ru is loud, abrasive and often reckless. Although there is no doubt in Barayas' mind over their familial love for one another, Barayas worries of what their sister might become, should she be left on her self-destructive path. From their eyes, it's clear to see the courageous, spontaneous and joyful child they knew from childhood has been replaced by a jaded woman, who cannot bring herself to trust or love anyone - perhaps including themself.
